  1. wow , hard to believe i have been here over 10 years and this is my 9000th post. seams just like yesterday i was signing up

fortunately , i think a good share of my posts have been productive...unlike this one just to get the post count. while i'm sure i have pissed a few people off , and a few people have pissed me off , i've had a bunch of guys thank me for my help. i think i have also had a few threads deleted?

anyway , thanks for this great forum .

  2. 36,
I don't believe that you have ever pissed me off although i dont doubt that i have pisede you off at least once.

never the less in the Ozarks they say it is better to be pissed off then to be pissed on so in either event I guess we have it covered.

You have a year on me and it seems just like 9 years ago that I didn't know who you were. ;)

I sincerely believe that anyone with over 2500 posts should be restricted from further posting or limited to 10 posts per month. My reasoning for this that there is no way that any one could have that much that is worthwhile to say. I guess some people just like to hear themselves spout off!

  8. Look at the pot calling the kettle black, next time you can't figure something out remind me not to post on your thread.

when I announced with great pride that I had reached 10,000 posts my thread was deleted.

I guess it was taking too much away from the "where to get pendleton shirts for cheap" thread.

  12. Well you are going to have to hustle, I am almost 6 posts a day ahead of you. :D

  13. yeah, this will probably get deleted too. i just did it because i saw i was just a few away. i actually have not posted much lately and at one point went over 1 year between posts

Well buckaroos, it's not how many posts ya dream up or what ya write that's important, it's what ya write that amounts to something good.

That already leaves me out! Keep it up guys. It keeps us old farts outta jail and sometimes outta trouble with our wives.:D

I learned to add a smiley cause some members take life too damned seriously. I'd never gotten this old if I was serious. :)

And furthermore, it is traditional to brag. That should keep this thread a few more minutes.

Well, let's do the math. You have been a member for 7 years and have only 306 posts. That is about 43 a year, or less than 4 a month. Some might say you are not contributing enough ! :p:D

Look, it is like any gathering you go to. Some people stand in the corner with their drink and occasionally have something to say, and other people are more extroverted and are right in the middle of things, gabbing away and having a great time. Some of us just happen to want to try to help other people or offer suggestions when we see the opportunity to do so.

I don't think that makes either type right or wrong, just different. :D

  16. I think that 10 years as a good thing to celebrate, I mean we do start happy birthday threads don't we?

I agree porknbeaner. I enjoy yours and almost all posts. I may have accidently learned something during my short stay here. I was gone to Illinois for a month and this is the only site I missed. Did get a car nut to join so I could peek in once or twice.
I will write something interesting when I get 10 years on here. Wait for me. :D
As Don says, some of us are DIFFERENT.

Oh look! This was thread 500 and I was gone over a month. Hope Don don't do the math!

  18. Watch yourself Beno... You've already posted 5 times on this thread. Good thing the month is up tomorrow, and you get your 10 post allowance on Saturday... :D

  20. I have discovered that a lot of what I post is just back and forth with folks that I have come to care about and will probably never meet.

I'll try my damndest to be here when you reach 10 years, you have a lot to say you just haven't figured that out yet.

Roger, I was addicted to car magazines. Been getting some of those popular ones since they started with little pages, stopped and started again.
Not sure why, my subscriptions ran out long ago and I keep getting them. Wife just piles them in a corner. Maybe when we loose power I will read them.
Like many, I joined here just to take a look. Three months and I'm still lookin. Some great info and greater car guys---and gals here. The bad part is I'm over 73. 10 years more is a lifetime for me.

I really like this----- you have a lot to say you just haven't figured that out yet. __________________

9000 posts in ten years? Yackity Yackity Yack. You're worse than my old lady. You should be more like me, the strong silent type with just over 1500.

All kidding aside, it's been good knowing ya for most of those ten years. Here's to another ten.

Wow, I guess after a while I stopped watching the post counts under the names of the usual hooligans!! 9,000 posts seemed like a TON until Beaner and Squirrel showed up!

I'm glad to have met y'all, you've given me laughs, smiles, wisdom, and insight that only comes with years of experience. It would be great to meet you all! :)

  26. Other than my wife, I think I have enjoyed this site as much as any thing I have ever done. Keeps us informed and entertained and the price is right. I've learned a lot, some good and some not so good, but always entertaining.
By the way, I'm just shy of 71, so ten more years is almost a life time for me also.
    Later,
    Dick

Hi RoadKill. Comparing the HAMB to your wife might be going too far. I've had some great sex with my wife and so far no on here as ----me. Okay it's semi family so better stop here.
We'll make it 10 more years. I'm too ornery and found out a few years ago Hell didn't want me. And contrary to my beliefs I actually did see the light but they rejected me too! Cardiologist 's nurse said I'd make it 20. But those people lie!:)
