I'm anxiously waiting for the next part of the story. Jack Redd really is a character. I still have 2 original JA stickers.
I was doing a hunt for info about Harry and Maxine Lehman and, finally, uncovered the story of the demise of the American Way. I knew where but never knew what else happened. Ugly deal. Mike

    Tyler-
Still doing some research on who is who in some photo albums of my moms I had talked to you about. One shot is your grandma helping my mom back up her altered. Another shot has her (your grandma) cheering in the background of the shot while my ma's altered is doing a full wheelstand in the foreground.
Pretty sure your grandma had a big impact on my ma getting her start.
I'll have the pics to you as soon as I finish going through them.

Me, that pesky gopher kid at Maple Grove, pushing the car back from the burnout on the fateful run. It was underexposed, best I could get.

Start of the run, notice that the American Way car is missing the back 1/2 the body which if I remember correctly was burned off a week or two previous. Rumor had it thast it messed up the aerodynamics. Jim Cutler Photo

What was left. I got a couple more Jim Cutler photos around here somewhere, one shows that the roll cage slide slammed violently on its side up against the guard rail support and left deep dipples in the roll cage leading edge about eye level, a testiment to the strength of the ch***is. At least, thats the way i remember it........just got to find the photo.
