I'd be more interested in a T-bucket without an engine than that truck at the same price... If you don't drive the T now, I can bet that the best thing that could happen with the truck is you buy a car cover ASAP, 'cause you really won't want to drive it either! The only upside for you on this trade is the shade provided by the roof. Less fun to drive, less quick sale appeal, take up more space. I guess if they were both parked in a barn or garage, the truck could be stacked with more **** too. That's 2 reasons!
First picture has a spotlight, second does not. Different tires, different plates--it's like that stupid Hocus Focus cartoon in the Sunday paper!
The reason I don't drive the T is you can't leave it anywhere if you decide to go into a store or whatever and I can't take my kids in it anywhere as it only seats two. I'm really after a car I can put the whole family in I think I've decided to just sell the car then take that money and find something that fits my desires. Thanks for all your input guys, I really appreciate you guys taking the time to answer my question and give some thought to your answers.
Funny, someone said Maaco. That's the first thing that came to mind when I saw it. Be sure to take a magnet along and check out the lower cowl and cab corners. Also check the floors. Those old corn binders like to rust. If it's whole it would bring $2500 to $3000 around here. That's real money not "I got this here real rare truck I think is worth a ton of money" money. Also if you get tired of pushing 6000 pounds around with a 100hp motor and decide to rod it plan a complete redo on the entire brakes and suspension. IHC built 'em like a tank and that's how they handled.
The truck looks to be a driver, that is old. Not bad, not great. How did the trade offer come up? Who approached who? Maybe you could get some scratch to boot?
The truck will only hold three, so not really a family vehicle either. An odd ball truck, a long bed to boot, and no or very little aftermarket support = difficult to resell. Sell the T-bucket and buy a car.
But does it come with a '98 Grand Am donor car? .... The one thing it has going for it is those are fairly scarce. You could always update the drivetrain (the usual SBC I suppose) without changing too much and probably make it more sellable.
