Thanks Jeff, I just read in your introduction that you bought that neat 32 back in '79......and hasn't drive it yet. Its time for you to get it done and start a build thread here.....NOW.

For the body bolts I have welded 1/2 nuts on the inside of the holes before boxing the frame. You can also use cage nuts.

I do have a easy and good trick for you if your frame is already boxed.
You know these nuts that have a build-in washer (in the same cast). Buy a bunch of those.
Drill the holes just enoth big so the nut goes in (upside down) but the washer stays on top of the frame.
Take out the drill from the machine and change it to a (drill) that I have no idea what its called in english. Someone help me out ? It is a drill that looks like a cone. Comes in different sizes.
Cone the holes just that much so the washer get flat with the frame and weld it.

Hmmmm......Maybe I should show it with pics instead.

    A countersink?
It cuts a bevel around the edge of the hole.
I'm a machinist by trade. I know what you're talking about.
Unless you mean a step drill that drills a larger hole the farther down you go.
The flange nut is a great idea. I was thinking about a wood nut, but
they look too thin walled--weak. Even if welded in.
Weld nuts I was having trouble finding locally.
"I don't stock those. I can order them but you have to buy 100 of them".
I'll check on those you mentioned today.
    Thanks.

A Countersink is what ive use but a Unibit might work to as long as you dont go thru the metal completly.

haha, let's not talk about MY car....I other than pushing it around in my garage, I havent touched in..ahem..2 months.

I'm in DOMESTIC ACTIVITY MODE. Meaning: I'm selling my house, so every last penny, and spare minute I have is getting dumped into my house. I have been on the HAMB about 3 times in the last month I think:eek: Hell, I jsut saw Nailhead Terry's finsahed car...I suck!

I think it's time to send MY car off to a professional...or it'll never get done!

All things aside, your car is going to be incredible. I'll definately be taking notes from your build!

Just got my shop finished, the only thing '32 about my car is the frame. (and parts of the front end)

Martin, you and Slepe have the real stuff. And you guys are doing them up in perfection.
I wish I could have been at Bakersfield with you, have enjoyed this thread the Most!

Thanks Mike, I spended the last weekend In Amsterdam and what I found there was perfection ;)
A Subaru mini mini mini van that was so ugly that it was cool. Note the front that seems to be 40 years older then the rest of the bus.

Those fuel line mounts are genius. I've been looking for something similar and haven't found anything.

Are these something you'd fab and sell me???? I'd like some for my 32 chassis.

Brent. Send me a pm with how many you need.

More like with a bending tool :)

At least what I call them, flat on one side and a bevel on the other side. Like a chinese hat.

Martin, your frame rotisserie cosists of 2 engine stands and homemade mounting bars? Genius.

Folks, trying to get some things done after the summer. Can you guys tell me the name of the bracket showed that has a ground cable attached. Also if there is someone who sells it.
Borrowed the pic from another hamber.
Wouldnt bee to hard to make one but I want it to be as close to original as possible.
