Yea I guess your right Jeff ,most are store bought but I was referring to the (real bikers) that build and rebuild there rides getting there hands dirty knowing what it takes to build.A lot of them that I know do just that.

  5. Sibling???

Okay I'll bite, who got the looks and who got the brains? :D

  6. Who cares, who has the beer :D:D:D:D

  7. Wow ..... some of you guys ????

    Its much like saying hello.
There is a camaraderie for sure how ever its not shared by everyone on a motorcycle. Its not brand specific but it is mentality specific.

The up or down is really insignificant and more of a matter of visibility around fairings. The wind resistance encountered on sticking your arm out is greatly effected by where it is in the profile of the motorcycle. Below the tank and inside the frontal profile of the wind being cut is SO much less.

I generally ride with my first two fingers covering the clutch handle & the other two and thumb on the grip. If my hand comes off the bar and I roll my forearm for the wave, well guess what ? Its two fingers out and down and right back where it came from.

Flat palm to the ground with up and down motion is "Slow down". You generally figure out why when you get there to see it.

As far as I'm concerned, that space shuttle gold wing is getting ready to turn right.

Hey, your tennis shoes are untied
    Your sandals are coming loose
    Your flip flops are low

see, even the dog on the back of the gull wing rockin' the leather vest has the wave down pat, good boy. and you can tell by the responses who rides and those who never did. it's just a common courtesy gesture among bikers, nothing more.

My daily driver is a Ford Focus, I don't wave at every Focus driver.

On a nice weekend day here, if I waved at every rider I passed I would have to wave a 100 times or more:cool: I guess if the rider count gets to be too high in one area though ( view any footage of a major bike run ) no one waves at anyone, just enjoys their bike ride.

  17. Sometimes you only wave at people you recognize and then there are those times that you don't wave at all of them either. If I rolled into Strugis these days and was on my signature ride, I would not be waving at anyone, my waving hand would be stuck under my leg.

  18. That dog is a stuffed animal!

Just another queer thing yuppie riders do. They figure "hey I'm on a fucked up lookin' ice cream wagon, why not add more fucked up shit to it"!

  19. Ha,ha you're the best beaner!
I hear soap and water helps that.
Why is that guy scratching his butt like that will be the next question.

Just to clarify, if any of you wave at me on my old Triumph or when I'm driving the Pontiac, and I don't wave back, no offense! I'm just trying REALLY hard not to wreck the whole time.

  22. I am not sure why he is scratching but if we wrestle him down we can make one hell of a Louie. :D

The smile thing gets me. I blew in off the road once, I had been back east and ran out of money a couple of times so it took me a while to get back home. I walked into one of the haunts and was looking for a familiar face and I here, " hey Benno's back from the dead." So I start recognizing people and grinning my big ol' beaner grin. :D The more I looked around the more I grinned, there is just something about being back among family. Anyway long story short this fella gets up and slips out the back door. I aksed someone what was up with him and he said "I dunno maybe he owes you money." I guess if a tramp smiles at you too long it is a bad thing?

    :D:D:D

Don't sweat it on my account. I'll just think your mad at me. ;)

  23. Ha Ha!

That whole video is hilarious and the best part is that unless you actually ride you don't know just how funny is really is. God I'm glad the yuppie riding craze is just about over. Maybe ridin' will get back to normal.

Some bikers say the two finger represents two cylinders or that it comes from the V shape of a Harley "V twin". Non-American bikes mostly had parallel cylinders (or boxer (BMW) or a sideways V (Moto Guzzi). I feel goofy doing the sign when I'm not on an American bike unless it's done to me first.
It reminds me of how, back in the 70s, the black guys in the mostly white and Hispanic town I lived in always gave a nod or power-fist to each other....just to say "we're in the same club and we get it."

  25. I have noticed prices dropping on late model used bikes around here. They are still stupid high but they are starting to drop. You still can't touch anything running older than a bowling ball reasonable though. Hey one of the local harley shops is giving away a new fat bob, I couldn't believe that they actually called it a fat bob. But the shop is owned by a chick maybe she knows the difference.
