My 34 has 12 spoke American mag spindle mounts, but if it didnt, I would have no issues running the bolt on new versions. To me, its a wheel design. I dont view them as "fake" like the fake injector look alikes, or hemi or olds valve covers on a sbc, or a blower with no rotors. I guess I dont see the comparison.
Pwheew ! I fell better now. My car is definitely not a G***er. I have a set of American racing magnesium spindle mount 5 spoke, just about the coolest wheels ever but wrong period for my car and too nice to modify for brakes. Have a set of the Radir 18x3 12 spokes with brakes. Not too keen on running cycle tires and the small contact patch for brakes with a blown hemi on the street. Maybe it will be fine, I don't know yet. Says drag race only plain as day on them. So what's the next best thing ? Trick wildwood disc set up, and bolt on 10 spokes. 100% dot compliant and rated for the weight capacity needed. Now God forbid something horrible happened while running go cart brakes , motorcycle tires, and drag race only wheels on the street but I don't care to find out how that works out. I promise, once I drive to the hamb drags, I'll swap on the radirs. Moon's dragster had rear disc brakes in '61.
Well I guess this answers the question once and for all.....cause hot rod said so! Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
driving this on the streets with cars that have fully functional brakes is really stupid. when a mini van comes to an emergency stop because of something in the road in front of you and all you can do is lock-up your rear brakes, and skid into him, maybe you'll see the light. he sure went to alot of trouble hiding his radiator. does he want to make it look like his block is filled? alot of you are slamming others for doing thing that you feel is less that authentic. this thing to me is a rolling CLICHE! it's got every do-dad that ever came out in the 50's or 60's, all on the same car. it's been stripped down like it's a race car. but it's not. without good working front brakes, all it is, is a road haszard. when american came with their "dasiy" wheels, do you think people thought that they look to much like torq thrust? it's just a differnt shape of spoke. or american "t 70's" there very similar. any wheel that holds air and spins true can hardly be a fake just because it remindes you of another wheel.
Pretty sure its all 50 states, but Ts never had them on the front, so maybe a year thing grandfathered in?
Rolling CLICHE? Pretty sure I would have no problem stopping behind some mini van or any other vehicle that slams on there brakes on any street only a dumb *** that would ride someones *** would do that. I bet my car stops better than most of the **** boxes I see driving down the road every day when I drive my car to work I'm the least of anyone's worrys. This car was built better than any of the new stuff the car company's call cars. I work on cars all day and night if I thought for one second it wasn't safe it wouldn't be on the road and I bet I can stop it faster than u could think of stopping ANY of your cars.
What's wrong with a Droid??? Let me guess, it's a poor copy of an iphone. My valvestem is obviously in the wrong spot! Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Threads like this make me very content to drive a Pontiac G8.....I'm just too stupid to know any better.....Centurion9
How so? Pretty bold statement considering the company youre in. Either you have something there we dont see, or you truly dont comprehend braking and are talking out your ***.
Droids and IPhones, more traditional hot rod fodder Sent via, smoke signal & jungle drums using ****og technology and the traditional hot rod app.
Man I just can't win for loosing, think I'll just go buy a set of polished American racing torque thrust II's, 18" at that!!! Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
WHAT!!!! With a valvestem like that, you must be out of your mind. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Oh, so your into the chrome plated valvestems huh???? You need to go on a street rod site where they love bling... Gag!
I thought this thread was about the location of the valvestem hole, not the material they are made of, that's another thread altogether! Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
I think it's awesome that some have stepped up to set the record straight as to what would be correct. It needs to happen more. I think it's funny that so many go their ******* in a bunch over it.
