here are some newer pics of my '58. put a big block 460 in it. ordered new coils for the front, and im gonna have it nose-high. tomorrow im hoping its not too cold so i can go slap a coat of white primer on it, and just make it look nicer until i can get the money and parts to finish her up. its about 70 percent done at the moment i'd say.

I bought one several years ago from Country Classic Cars in southern Illinois. That's the last time I buy a car without seeing it first. The salesman told me it was from Texas and it was actually from Minnesota and was loaded with rust and bondo. He said it ran great but he forgot to mention the rod knock. I had nothing but problems with that car and eventually sold it for about $3K less than I paid for it....

Thanks Luvsccr. I bet your's moves pretty good with that 460 in it. I kept the original 292 in mine. She's almost ready for paint.

I just picked one up. Love the body styling on these. About to put an AOD in it for cruising. New paint but the interior is untouched and beautiful.

Well this isn't quite a custom 300 either, pretty close. It's a load of fun at a car show, most don't know that Henry kept the 57 back, and planted the 58 front end and trim on. Mark

Yes, its 66 390 bored .060. I made the fenderwells from tri-five BB chevy fenderwells.

  23. so did you just cut the flange (headside) off the chevys then weld on the f/e flanges? got pics or anything?

Ill search for pics. I was gonna start a thread a while back because FE fenderwells are non existent. Been searching for years until I finally decided to do it myself. They stick out a bit ( as in the pics above) but you can adjust the angles to compensate. I like the way they stick out. My car looks like models I built as a kid. Basically I cut the flanges off. Welded about 4 inches of 1 5/8 tubing at 45 degree angles to FE Flanges. Slipped the headers over the tubing and welded up. the BB chevy tube spread is real close to the FE

  25. id really like to see the pics if you find them

Im still searching for pics- here are a couple:

This one shows how close the Chevy BB primaries line up with the FE. Notice that FE heads point down 45 degrees while Chevy is at a 90.

This one shows the finished headers with the 45 Degree extension tubes. Notice that the u- bend on the chevy tube in the back, is perfect for the 57 58 brake line

This one shows the engine compartment and the wheel well.

If you go this route- Be sure to measure your exhaust ports on your heads and get flanges that match or bigger. Ford messed with intake exhaust port size Fooor evvvver
