Check your cable listings - then again do yourself a favor and dont !

Show is terrible, another totally ridiculous Discovery channel production.
It was cool seeing B*** and Elrod making an appearance.
Elrod sold the Monkey boys a thoroughly rusted 32 roadster body on deuce rails that they didnt even choose to do anything with. Instead they sold it for a slight profit over the internet to someone in Finland. Then the Monkey ****s end up scoring a Willys g***er that they initially thought to be an original Stone, Woods and Cook drag car. Of course this was just to make for some interesting plot. They declined to do anything with it too. Instead they sell it to B*** for $25,000. Revealing that it was in fact NOT a S,W & C car. I think they acquired it for $7,000.00 so once again the show appears to all about wheeling and dealing and not so much about building kick *** hot rods. The car they chose to showcase building on the show ended up being a 1959 Rambler Cross Country Station Wagon. They gutted the interior, power washed it, s****ped the motor and suspension for an updated power plant and air ride system. Threw on some Euro style rims and super low profile tires, then pawned it off on some guy and his kid who drove up in a Lexus looking to buy a second car for his wife who is into hot rods. ????

Man, I want my HAMB TV !

Haha. Thanks man! It was a really fun experience being on TV and seeing what goes into the production. They were actually at my house for a little over an hour. I showed them my coupe and started it up. Showed them the other two Model As and then we got down to dealing on the roadster. All that gets edited for television to be a little 2 minute segment.

I also work in television production for educational programs and know that every person in the audience will not be happy with the final product. Just like a musician or an artist, someone will not like it, and they know that as well.

In talking with the guys, they have a crew that Discovery has paid to be there for 6 weeks to capture 12-14 car BUILDS. Yes, Richard is the loud talking wheeler-dealer guy and the show purposely portrays him as that. Aaron even makes jabs at him that he doesn't lift a finger on cars. They also look for high and low points because that is just story telling 101. You need a beginning, middle and end, with a little struggle to get to the end to make a story that anyone wants to listen to. So yeah. The non-car people editing the show screw some stuff up and Aaron said it gets frustrating sometimes when they try to get him to dumb down things because of the non-car speaking general public.

But I do know that Aaron, KC and Scott are really working to the point of killing themselves, and while sick when I saw Scott one day. They usually start working at 7:00 a.m. and go until 2-3 a.m. and have about 1 week to turn a car from a field find to something that can haul *** down the road. This again is for the purpose of the fact that they aren't going to pay a film crew to stay around for 1 year to watch them build 1 car. That would get stale for the common m***es.

Hence the reason they primarily build one car an episode (because it takes time to do 12 cars in 6 weeks) and they have to fill the rest of the hour with side stories of their quick flips to give the show variety.

It's not every guys cup-o-tea, but knowing that Aaron sleeps on the shop floor for about 2 hours a night to do what he does is pretty inspiring. Aaron, KC and Scott just turned out a nice, painted 32 three window in 3 weeks while working on another car, running around filming scenes at auctions, and doing appearances on the news and talk shows. That will be in an up-coming episode.

I agree that it may not be AMBR contenders or something that everyone likes, but I know I couldn't keep up that kind of pace.

You deseve it Homie. My 3 year old sat up straight & said, "Look at that Coupe, Daddy", "That Coupe is BAD"! "Daddy Daddy Daddy"!!!

Yeah, we all want to see hard work, more cutting, grinding, & welding, but, I can see it getting stayle/boring fast. Editing/stageing is needed. It's entertantment.

I wish that they would make the reality shows about how they do **** and not about the personalities. Oh but then that would be educational and not entertainment. Sorry, my bad, i don't know what I was thinking.

Thanks MataConcepts! I hope the producers listen to what people want to see and show more of that also!

Unfortunately, to the television networks, it's all about the $$$ you are going to make for the shareholders.

That flickering tube in the corner that people are glued to all day is a big money business.

I think I caught a few minutes of that while surfing the channels yesterday but it seemed too full of bs to me. More about flipping cars than anything else from what I caught.

Any car TV is better than the VAST majority of the other nonsense on TV.

Everybody has to make a living in this world and everyone is not gonna be happy about what a person has to do to feed his family.

I am personally happy for Aaron and Richard living THEIR dream.

Go live YOUR life, and be HAPPY!!

I love seeing old cars getting a new lease on life.......

Oh yea, Brian is a ***y *****! hahahahaha

yeah i was watching it and then saw yall on it. was glad to see some people that i knew (not personally but have seen yalls work in person) honestly I think the star of the show is Aaron. the business couldn't survive without the management but props go to the guys doing the work. wish they would have dove in deeper on Elrod and B***'s cars though. those are two of the best candidates for traditional style hot rods

I thought the Rambler wagon was cool as it could be. I loved that thing! (Yeah, I just said that.)

Sure, there is some goofy BS on the show but at least they're not *****ing all the time, they seem to have fun with it all and they get **** done! That's more than I can say for myself usually.

Well, I really want to like it. I have only seen one other episode which didnt offer much more than this one but in all fairness I guess I should lighten up some and give it more of a chance. Especially since its based here in Big D and its hot rod related. I was definitely disappointed in this episode though, given the choice of the 3 cars featured, they p***ed up on Elrods roadster and the Willy's to work on the Rambler ! But as Elrod points out, they try to complete a build during each show and given the amount of work that would have been required on the other cars, that would have been impossible. So I guess it seems unlikely we will get to see any significant builds performed but Richard and Aaron are interesting characters and very likable guys. It also seems like the shop is capable of doing some cool stuff. As stated, theres not much out there for us to get our fix on so I guess thats the answer to your question as to why I watched it. Something is better than nothing.

At least it sounds like the episode is less fake than the two jokers that "found" the belly tank in a storage unit last year. So is that actually who B*** bought his Willys from, or did they put his Willys in their garage and sell it back to him?
