Jimi it's a Chrysler Royal AP(Australian Production)1. There were 3 series of these from 1957-63, this 1st series built from 1957-59. They built a wagon called a Plainsman with flat rear glass, this is a stretched custom and the absence of any ambulance livery suggests it's most likely a hearse. I've seen a couple of these but only pictures of the Plainsman wagon.

I operated a dragline almost identical to that about 40+ yrs ago.
It was a noisy rattling contraption with (as I recall) a 2 cylinder, 2 cycle screaming GMC diesel engine.
The shafts had to be oiled and the (exposed) gears had to be greased daily. The grease was in a 5 gallon bucket and looked like semi-soft roofing tar. It was applied with a stick directly to the gears.
Oiling the shafts amounted to pouring oil into cups stuffed with cotton rags to restrict (regulate) the flow.
Moving the thing even a few feet was a job in itself.

I think it prudent to be cautious with something so persistent and powerful when the effects and implications are far from understood. Observational junk, we see alot of this from rednecks needing something to fill their agenda too :D

I suppose this is the dashboard of the Isotta Fraschini Monterosa, one of 5 cars built from Isotta Fraschini in 1947; it was a very particular car with rear 8V engine.

It's not a Tucker, It's a Isotta Fraschini Monterosa 1947; You can see the IF item in the center of rear bumper.

  29. Saving 5c a gallon in 1940 (about when this pic might have been made) is like 92c a gallon today.

  30. OK, I'm getting on my soapbox!
