Ok, I know a lot of you guys are out in Cali and see George at shows from time to time. At events, does he charge for autographs? I'm headed to the glenmoor gathering in Ohio this weekend and I had a couple things I wanted to get his John Han**** on for my collection. Thank in advance.

I have been with George at the KKOA Lead Sled in Salina for the last 6 or 7 years...been in the booth many, many times with George & John D'Agostino, and I have NEVER seen him charge for an autograph ! I saw him at the G.N.R.S 2 years ago and it was 50 dollars for a picture and his autograph. I was a arm length away from him, but 50 bucks, forget it. My daughter got a autograph from John Schneider for Free.
He has't in the past... He is quick to hand out Batmobile pictures (signed)... But signed some Rodders Journals for me...
Its up to the show promoter.. If they've paid to get him there they might charge for autographs... otherwise I think he pretty much will sign whatever you have for you for free
He will grab you girlfriend's *** for free, which, before you begrudge me for saying, I find to be very commendable for an 'ol timer, I wish I'm that way thirty years hence.

nothing to do with autographs but I filmed the cruise at the last PASO ROBLES show. George and Blackie were leaning on the back of my wifes chair. I didn't stop filming for entire cruise except for one minute when George's son was cruising in the chopped Cad he****. George had walked over me to talk with his son. when he walked back to me I shut the camera off out of respect and got up so he could get back to his spot. when he got to the curb his son said something and George turned to reply then turned back and walked into a light post and fell on his ***. sorry I had the camera off I would have probably sold that to him.
Ive never ask him but he seems real approachable when I do run into him at shows? he should be at the cruise for a cure show next weekend at the OC Fairgrounds with his movie cars like last year. I`ll try and let you know. <O</O
Totally agree. If you paid for one, it was because either the promoter or some affiliation he was involved with for that particular event dictated otherwise. Catch him at the IHOP and he probably wouldn't charge ya...unless he hasn't eaten yet.
hate to be the bearer of bad news but george will not be at the glenmoor show. I do work for the show (cl*** host) and they informed us that he wont be attending unfortunately (health reasons). but they are doing a cruise-in this year along side the show if anyone wants to bring in their ride to show off.
met him, joe bailon, and gene winfield under one tent back in about 98 or 99 at the james dean run in fairmount in. they all signed a kustoms of america hat for me, no charge. really nice guys all of them. joe balion has a memory like a steel trap. almost scary what he can remember.
A couple of years ago at WoW in Boston. Huge line for Meathead Tuttles Choppers. No line for George. $5 for a signed B&W Hirohata Merc. Nice guy, gaudy gl***es.
I have heard of him charging and herd of him not charging. Maybe it has to do with if he is flush or not. I mean hell if you need a couple of bucks and folks are willing to pay you to sign stuff why not.
Two years ago at Viva Las Vegas he was charging $10 for one of his photos that was autographed. Good deal in my book.
He signed my kustom techniques books for free. We even went down to the hotel bar to hang out for a while and watch him mack on chicks. That dude is a riot!!
Met George a couple times and never charged to sign. The first time many years ago I brought my copy of Cars of the Stars magazine I bought as a young boy. I was the only adult in a long line of kids. He was amazed I had a copy as he hadn't seen one in years. He held up the line as he flipped through it with "I forgot about that one...I remember building that...ect." He spent some time and signed a nice person note and thanked me for bringing it. Real nice guy.
Are you speaking of the Paso show that moved to Santa Maria? Just wondering because they (Paso) started up a new 3 day event for Labor Day weekend with a Cruise on Friday night, show on Saturday and a BBQ on Sunday.
Autographs are gay. I might admire someone but I sure as hell don't want them scribbling all over my ****. JH
I have a picture of him without his gl***es on, he would probably pay me to get that and burn it. He looks really pissed about it.
We just saw him at Ventura and it was 10$ for an autograph and 20$ for an autograph of one of his rides he built like the hirohata merc
If you have something you want signed,he usually signs for free. He charges for the signed pictures he brings with him,just like Paul Lemat,Candy Clark and some of the other celebs who show up at events. Paul Lemat signed my sons dash on his Shoebox for free at the Primer Nats years ago.
I paid $10 for a photo of the Metranga Merc, and as I started to walk away with it, the vendor said "don't ya want George to sign it?" I hadn't even noticed him sitting there (sort of hidden behind a display), I just wanted a photo of one of my favorite cars. Anyway, he signed and then I told him how influential his series of books had been as I was building my car, so he got up, left the booth and walked over to my car and we had a nice enjoyable convo.
People seem to get all worked up over this subject every so often. He's awesome, so sometimes he charges, like when he goes someplace specifically to sign stuff. Other times he'll just sign your stuff, cause he's awesome. Have you seen the Ala Kart? It's awesome. Some folks don't like him and are very vocal about it cause one time he was more interested in some 20 year old chick than signing their nascar hat which, to me, seems awesome.
