So Im cruisin craigslist and just happened to open an add for a 49 ford four door ,dont know why not a shoebox guy especially a more door but in small print it said 365 cadillac w/blower WTF! So after several attempts to contact the seller no return calls labor day afternoon someone answers he wasnt a car guy and knew very little actually was selling for a friend out of state . Had him send me a pic of the motor and I couldnt get there fast enough ! Car had actually been brought to Wash state from Citrus hieghts California after the late owners wife had p***ed away about 8 years ago . After talking to the son of the late owner the car was a wedding gift to his folks and they owned the car since it was new . He said his dad worked in Chino California and spent a lot of time down there and said the blower motor and mods were done somewhere near Chino in the late 50s early 60s . Any of you California guys reconize this old Ford? It had to be a terror in its day.

Is it a pruned case 4-71? hard to see with all the "semi truck filters" in the way. I bet the manifold looks like this one. Snout is similar as well. Cool find for sure.

Nice find looks like a sleeper drag car. Should be a fun ride when you get it running.

Way to find some gold on the 'list! It looks pristine. And of course that motor/induction is awe inspiring.

  17. I'd like to learn a bit more about Tom Beatty. When doing a search, there is info about his lakester but, not much about him.
I own and run a one of a kind blown/injected Mickey Thompson Pontiac HEMI and the idler set up on the blower drive has "Tom Beatty" cast into it. That engine is from 1962.
I have gathered that Tom was into top mounted roots blowers and he apparantely made and sold drive parts but, do not know much else.

If anyone has anything to share, let me know.

Very neat find you got there and looking forward to your progress on it.

The name Tom beatty is actually cast on the snout and rear cover. Blower is pruined and the manifold does look very similar

Nice that it is a complete Beatty setup. I think that his stuff got "nicer" as we went along. I think the snout that I have is a realy early one. It is notched for the oil fill tube and machined for a swinging idler arm in front. No sign of a name, although it was polished at one point.

Also attached a picture of a Beatty 8V belt picture I had. Totally different snout and a 6-71 on an Olds.

Does your manifold have the fins on the bottom? You will have to get some good pictures up. I'd love to see that in person. Makes me want to get my setup on my 49 Ford..... Shoebox ford, Beaty blown Caddy, grudge match....2dr vs 4dr....

I bought those nice maroon 16" wheel/tire combo at Puyallup last year.
