Sparkdog: Thanks for the tip. Kind of an ugly looking COE IMO, but the price is reasonable.

Sorry about the ad link. I forgot about Binderplanet and their weird policies for who can see pics. Here is one of the three pics from the ad.

I think these IHC's can be cool trucks, and they are bigger inside then a lot of the other choices out there, so comfort can be an easier thing... or you could chop and section it like this one I posted on page 126.

I did a quick chop and section on that stock one...

    Which years?? They are different.
The early ones are similar to the "Beer Barrel" grille in them on the '38/'39 Pickups/Trucks & then they changed. The outer grille panel that holds the grille is also different to match on the later.
(personally I'd like an early one (& grille) for mine :D)

  6. OMG!, there ain't enough insurance to cover something like this!

heres a real cool 41 international that i am working on for a customer, been in his family since new.
in 49 they put in a new olds motor, pass. side door opens suicide, has 2 speed rear end, vacuum trailer brakes, and a browny box trans.

Joe, when im looking at the pics i notice door hinges on the passenger side for the rear door, and then on the driver side i notice the door jamb has all the notches and stuff for the latch plates for a door to latch on.. were they turning it into a fourdoor? very cool truck but mid 20's would be very hard to swallow..a buddy of mine was eyeing a 36 Ford COE awhile back on ebay, i had never seen one of those..it was pretty cool looking..you can see it on youtube, but pretty insanely priced in my book..

Yes, I agree Matt. Lots of money for a project. It was supposedly an original 3-door, but looks like someone grafted two cabs together to make it so? Project has been 15 yrs in the making, so lots of info lost?

How cool is that!!!! I love how people all over the world share our passion for hot rods and COE"s. I can't imagine how hard it is to build something that nice outside of this country. I wish I understood Spanish well enough to hear his story and learn more of the details of his build.

So for my 30th Birthday, my wife bought me a '52 chevy:
We drove down to eugene and picked it up. I knew it was going to be big but once I got it on the trailer I have to admit it was Shockingly large. It took all night doing 40 up I-5 and giving my trailer brakes a hell of a workout, but we got it home. The next morning, we grabbed the baby and the dog and sat out on the flatbed for our morning coffee
    [IMG]
A few days later I took the truck down to a scrap yard and had them take the flat bed for me as it was way too big and not really in the vein of what I am planning for the truck. Now it is much more manageable.
At first I was thinking I would swap the cab for the one on my '89 dodge, and add a bed, but now, looking at the COE chassis, I think I may just drop the 5.9****mins from the ram into the 2.5 ton frame. Either as a 4door short bed, or a 2door flat bed:

which leads me to my first question: Does anyone know anything about old Bendix air brake systems? I have the column unit, and a reservior, and I think there is an actuator on the pumpkin, but where is the compressor? Could it be that it compresses from the unit on the rearend? It seems very mysterious to me. I will post some pictures of the air brake components when I get a chance.

I have driven by this place many times. It is east of Albuquerque,NM along side of I44. I stopped a couple of weeks ago. It isn't a salvage but a Museum. Nothing for sale but a lot to look at. This one truck is just begging to be built. It is an Autocar.
The last 2 are in Tucmcari, NM.

You just gotta get off the Interstate every now and then

I've been tempted to stop there a few times myself. That Autocar tanker is really cool.

47 Chevy spotted on CL a few years ago. Uniquely, it had a 383 small block swapped in but stock running gear otherwise. Is anyone here familiar with a v-8 swap into an Advanced Design COE with a stock chassis?

I wish you guys would stop talking about your running and driving trucks, you make me feel bad that mine is still not done...however, I do have a newly built 408 SBC engine for it!

Um, no, thats a conventional. A cab-over would be a COE.
