Grew up just northwest of Lansing a ways (Fowler) and Vernor's was the drink of choice at our house.

 

I believe these examples were made in Russia. I have seen only a few of them.

 

I bought a '77 pacer new also with a six cylinder. Had a huge amount of room in the well. Apparently the original plan was a Mazda rotary but AMC couldn't swing it. The '78 came out with a V8. Does anybody know who supplied the V8 ?

AMC had their own V-8's in various displacements.

 

What was the purpose of the bicycle wheel mounted on the rear of the car?

It was used, among other things to get accurate speed readings. And....the scrub brakes on the bicycle wheel helped stop the car.......
