How about a vintage Hearse thread?

We just picked up a 1947 Flxible built Buick hearse. Anyone else have something interesting?

Don't know why someone would give this thread a 1 star rating when there is a sweet 47 Buick hearse. Never seen one of those - that back end is very cool. What are your plans?

 

Look at the extra locks on the back door to keep the zombies in. It's so ugly only a blind mother could love it; so it's totally cool! Butch/56sedandelivery.

 

Planning a 1/2 ton Chevy pickup chassis clip and rear suspension, sbc w/ od trans. but keeping the general appearance original......with wide whites and a dark color.

that car was in Oregon for a long time. Wondered way happened to it. Glad someone got it.

I have been looking at these pictures, and the only thing Factory Buick seems to be the front fenders grill and bumper.
The rest is coach built, just look at the height of the bonnet and the depth of the sides of the body.
Was it a Hearse or an Ambulance?

 

You could run anything under that hood with room to spare.

 

I spotted this old indian behind a parlor on my way home from work one day I had to stop and grap a few shots. It was in pretty good shape would make an awesome surf wagon. Don't know the year I have some more pictures if anyone is interested.

Never saw a 57 Chevy hearse. Nice.

 

The 57 belonged to a friend of mine for years, it was a National conversion and started out as a 210 2 dr post. The belt line dip was moved back several inches on the quarter.

That is the only 57 Chevy Landau Hearse by national believed to exist.

Looks like a 37 or 38 Pontiac to me.

 

The dip in the belt is where it should be, the car now hearse was stretched at the B post and custom back doors installed is what I'm seeing.

A friend of mine has an old Caddy hearse, he gets pissed cause I won't ride in it.

They just give me the fucking willies.

 

Nope...it's a 1940 and it's a beaut! I'd love to own it.

Traditional hot rod hearses?

 

In 1966 the local funeral homes in Fayetteville NC were having a changing of vehicles and had several hearses for sale. I was 17 and test drove a fantastic children's hearse, all white inside and out, curtains and all. The price for this 50 or so Caddy was $450 but it was nixed when my Mom found out what it was. She wan't having ANY hearse, but especially a childs hearse , in her driveway.
