Here's some pics I took. For whatever reason I'm having trouble uploading pics.

This week I received my steering column in the mail so I could press on with the pedal placement and the seating configuration. It's an tilt/telescopic unit out of a C5 Corvette. Eventually I'd like integrate the ABS/Active Handling into this car. The column has a steering angle sensor integrated into it which is critical for the AH system to function.

To start I had to make a few brackets and mounts to hold everything in place, it was really straight forward. Overall, I think the setup is really comfortable, but it's an odd feeling sitting so high up. I really have no choice in the matter because of the height and length of the windshield and hood respectively. All that is left is finish welding everything and build a small set of gussets for the upper support that connects to the body.

I've finally got my CNC Plasma table working, but I still like the satisfaction that comes from making parts by hand. I'll save the table for when I need to make a bunch of the same parts, like the seat brackets.

I spent the day doing the center console... It took me a while to just get this far. I had to clean and organize the shop today, it never seems to fail that after only a few hours of working the place looks a bomb went off. I really didn't know what I wanted to do with this console I kind of just free formed it. All I wanted was something visually stimulating. After a few more hours of working with it I should be able to get it looking way better.

Wow. Awesome build, damn inspirational. I had no idea so many belvedere/ savoy/ plaza fans were in the house. Anyone have a lead on a 54-56 Plymouth grille?

I got a little carried away on this next part... I wanted to build a new sub frame for the front suspension because I totally cheated by using a stock vette cross member. It was convenient at the time but, now with a 6' x 10' CNC Plasma Table I wanted to push the limits of what I could do. So I ended up with this... It's mostly 10 ga CRS.

  14. You might consider going back and editing your post above and putting a "carriage return" ("Enter" button) between each of your image links so they'll stack vertically.

As is, your post is about 13,000 pixels wide and it takes a lot of side scrolling to view when most monitors only cover about 1200 to 1400 pixels width.

Odd, they stack for me, and they did last night as well

Oh, and damn fine work Skippy! It may not be HAMB friendly but I dig it.

  16. sweet video . nice work

  17. Looks good. But did you loose those wheels yet?

  18. Well it's not the first time I've run into that. It can sometimes be a browser issue as well.

I'm on IE8. Just curious, what browser are you using?

  19. good choice in car man. i've always thought the 53/54 and also the 55/56 plymouths where too overlooked. this ones going to be special for sure. you've got a lot of talent.

You might be on to something... Most of the time I'm so tired that I'm lucky to just get the pics up. :)

I'm just going to run these for a while until I figure out what I want to run. The brakes I'm going with (maybe) will require a large wheel like the wheels now. I know this isn't super traditional but it's still some cool ass fab work.

So a lot of people have been throwing the whole "a lot of talent" thing around lately. I'm pretty sure there is a bunch of old timers scoffing at this build. In the mean time I will continue to be myself and do what I think is right.
