We used to do this with the front end of my Corvair when I was flagging for ARCA. The trunk had a sprayed fiberglass lining, and we'd pull the drain plug, dump in a couple cases, then cover it with ice. Only problem was people telling us our radiator was leaking as the ice melted.

  21. I was one block down and two blocks over from you. Indian Trail, that was April of 1968. I had went up to Toronto with a girl that I had met in Miami after getting out of the Army and figured I would like to see Canada. The only problem was I had an Honorable Discharge from the US Army and couldn't get work papers. I had to have been a "Draft Dodger" or an Army Deserter to get work papers, go figure. So I headed back to the States at the same time that MLK was killed and Detroit and many other city's were burning. I drove into Detroit never realizing what was going on.
Five years later I started racing hydroplanes in Canada for the next fourteen Summers. Making a lot of Canadian friends and I never did figure out the Draft Dodger thing.

[IMG] Holly crap ! This looks like my mom and dad and our 1934 Chevy. Only ours was a 4-door. I remember going from central Illinois to Portland, Oregon and back with my little brother and parents in ours. :)
