Vintage shots from days gone by!

I used to play Duckpins as a kid . They were to me harder to knock down . I think we "Might " still have one place here , ( Richmond Virginia ) that has a place . scrubba

My father ,father in law and all my uncles were pin boys at one time .We have a set of lanes here still that are hand set and I set pins there but this is an old community center with just 4 lanes and now just used for private parties. The places one of my uncles an my father in law set pins there was a pedal in the floor that you had to set this would push pins up out of the floor about 1/2 inch you then set the bowling pin down over these this made sure every pin was set correctly.Once the pins were set you released the pedal and the pins retracted back below floor level. One of my uncles went from pin boy to running the back of the alleys maintaining the pin setting machines when the alleys he worked for built a brand new building in the new "Shopping center" built in 1957.The first bowling alley in the U.S. is here in Woodstock Ct. it is built into the Carriage shed of the Bowen House (Roseland Cottage) a 20 something room Summer house for New York publisher and millionaire Henry Bowen several presidents visited Bowen House and bowled there in the 1800s

 

Like I said, looks like. What is your thought on what it is?
