    I don't know but it looks like they could run the car over the pit to work on them, just a guess, don't really know. could be where the pits came from

    Yup, that's the trivia question of the day. Where did the name of the garage area get the name pits? Wonder how many mechanics got trapped and burned in there?

    I have that movie - the last shot shows Benny and his co-star Belinda Lee in the car as it rolls over and over. Ironically, Belinda was killed in a car crash near San Bernardino in 1961 - she was ejected from the car she was riding in when it rolled over after a high-speed blowout.

  13. Looks like the front body work from a Lotus 19 sports racing car doing the high jump!

  14. The dark spots above the light shades appear to be burn marks or soot from the old gas lamps.

    Have to remember that the "Good Ole Days" during the industrial transition weren't always "Good"!
