I remember some one selling repo (aftermarket) id plates (vin tag) I did a search and couldn't find it . Some one still selling something like that. Thanks
Vin Tag! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=684738&highlight=vin+tag Some one else had them just the other day and I saw them, they also stamped your number if you wanted....
If you mean the trim tag, you can get reproductions from http://www.datatags.com/ He doesn't do VIN tags.
It's more like the second link is what im looking for. It's for an ot bike it has the vin stamped it the neck but should also have a little black tag with the vin and model. I don't have to have it but it was something i saw and wanted then forgot about.
You can buy blank VIN tags for different vehicles, but they are all different. If it's for a bike, I'd look for for someone who sells reproduction parts for them (British??)
I'm looking some one who will print $100.00 bills for me. Re-poped vin tags can get you in some sketchy territiory real fast. I would know the law on this before I got involved.
It's not a problem unless you are trying to get one so you can title a car. If you're wanting a tag for a vehicle that's already titled, dataplate will emboss a v.i.n. tag for around $100.00 but you must provide proof of ownership.
If I worked for DMV and someone came in trying to register a car with a fake VIN tag they would definitely be off on the wrong foot with me. It would go downhill from there. On the other hand you might get lucky but why chance it? Charlie Stephens
