Would you use these for a shift knob?

I have a PBR tap handle on my 54 Chevy but I wish I didn't.

Yeah, that's what they all say.....

 

Beer tap handles are ok with me on a 50's-60's mild custom with an automatic tranny...I prefer my hotrods to have a simple shift ball. Nothing more than my personal preference based on my personal taste. Yours may vary.

 

Another YES on the Microphone....Your choice on the rest, but you did ask...

I knew I kept all of them for a reason!!! I've ended up with around 150 over the last 7 years in the beer business! Just could not bring myself to throw them out or make shift knobs out of them!!!

Are you going to ask this crowd what your lady should look like also? Quit worrying about what The"HAMB" thinks you should like. Do what suites you . My taste have changed or evolved over the years.

If you want to know what's cool, it's something that is the NEW gimmick (for about 10 seconds), something that shows craftsmanship and style, or here on a trad site, something seen on at least a couple magazine cars from the pre-65 era.
Find 5 mag pics of beer shifters, and look at the cars. If they are something that you would still want to own today, print out the pics and you have a legal case for them.
BTW, carrying around a bunch of old pics to argue that something is cool is LAME!

 

The first time you see one, maybe it looked cool, but like the beer can cover ignition coil, after you see a couple of them then no, not cool anymore, overdone.
