Fasi..... That car is capable of leaving Custom guys breathless and silent. It is just so nice ,I wish things would have been a little different and it could of been in the Then & Now building. I would love to see it in person.
Fasi, that car is drop dead gorgeous. The other day I got some amazing photos showing the Ernst Chevy as it sat in 1973....sad photos.....but luckily Burns saved the car for us all to enjoy: The rest of them are published here: http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Larry_Ernst%27s_1951_Chevrolet A fallen beauty for sure...but still a beauty!
Thanks for posting this photo of the car in decrepit condition. It shows the task Burns did of performing an excellant job in restoring and preserving this car. He also was most gracious in allowing John Kouw and I to photograph and take critical measurements of it during the process of building 2nd iteration clone. And how can one say enough about the great job Kustomrama is doing of showing the history of Kustom cars. Thanks to all.
It's sad to see these legendary Customs in this condition but very interesting to see them after their heyday. Thanks for posting this pic ,I love this car.
Yeah, I see the pics of old customs in their present codition and think how the hell did they get that messed up? I know it's cuz at one time customs stopped being cool, and muscle cars took over, but damn it still blows me away!
Further proof that the old customs were (ab)used regularly and were much more that mere show-pieces. Great pic., and a terrific thread! -Dave
that green coupe is dead nuts. is there a build thread anywhere? i'd love to get some info on the grille surround. nice car.
bmc Your coupe is really fantastic... Really great nice little details, perfect styling.. and a real stance, which is pretty rare on new cars these days. Love to see more...
Unfortunately. And no Appletons and no front bumper guards and/or license plate. All of which is very typical for this period. But it has a very nice overall look and a good stance with correct wheel combo etc. With that said, I think it fits the thread very well.
I feel like J.B. does on post # 1287 but it is a great looking Custom. Thanks for posting on this great thread.Yes I know some had driprails.
