Found locally at a junk yard the other day. It has been sitting under a work bench for 30+ years. It used to be raced in the late 60's and early 70's in an "a/a" altered t roadster. Before it was rebuilt, it ran 152 in the quarter with slips to prove it. It was pulled out to be rebuilt and once it was rebuilt it never made it back to the strip. Check it out, its got some cool stuff on it. Its a 1956 pontiac block with 1962 heads on it, with roller rockers, cragar timing cover, mickey thompson header adapters, vertex ronco magneto, edelbrock b20 blower manifold, roller cam, 421 rods, polished and chromed crank, stroked, gear driven, and double clutch with a steel flywheel. Dont really know what i have planned for it, but i couldnt pass it up. Just too cool. Might be for sale in the future, or might just sit in the garage for looks. Its a shame that the guy sold the 671 blower and pullys years ago because he was hard up for cash, but thats life !

That deserves to be in something that weighs less than 2,000 lbs.

If you do nothing but slap a big square piece of plexiglass on top of it and call it a coffee table it'll be great.

Sweet, that would be great in a little front engine dragster or an altered. I'd set it on a low stand and put that suggested glass top on it until I figured out what I was going to do with it.

Well you got a good piece of scrap iron there. Did you pay by the pound or did they throw a big price at you?
The reason I ask is I usually get stuff at a scrap yard here in town for a decent price.
About a month ago I got the complete front suspension, "B" motor, transmission and rear suspension for a 32 Ford for weight. These pieces were in excellent shape.
This week I got a complete front axle, spindles, 4 15" wide 5 wheels, and a complete Flathead V8, for wieght. All of this including the V8, was a generator engine that was kept in a guys garage here in town for the last 25 yrs. The reason he scraped it was that the generator part of it quit working, so he bought a new Honda generator. All of this stuff cost me $400. :D:D:D

Appears also to have someone's RevKit on the pushrods. Are those springs kept in place by a pin through the pushrod under the retainer?

  20. Yeow! And I thought I got a good deal when I paid a hunert bucks for my 1957 Pontiac engine bored out to 370 with Jahns pistons, Mckellar #6 cam.... found under the bench at a machine shop after the owner never showed up to claim it. The machine work had all been done and short block assembled..it's goiong in my 34 ford with later heads, dual quads and a more modern cam.
If you decide to part it out, I'd be interested in some of the parts or maybe the whole thing.

So....you were in a junkyard and you found that sitting there with all the paperwork? Sounds nothing like the junkyards I've been in.

I wish i would of paid by the pound, but that definately was not the case. I didnt steal it, but think i paid a fair price for what it was. It was an old hot rodder that lived at the junk yard, that is not open to the public anymore. He used to race back in the day, and when i stopped to talk to him and visit, he said he was starting to get rid of stuff, and then he pulled the cover off of the motor. Its not like i was at a salvage yard and someone dropped it off for scrap metal like some may think. Just wanted to clear things up. Thanks

He Strung me along for 2 days, I offered allot of money for that and All I got was heartache for my trouble, Jeff, let me know if U change your mind, I will buy that stuff from U. Don't let somebody else s Dreamer price on eBay confuse you, Read the above prices in the above posts, and don't follow the lemmings over the cliff either.

So what do you guys think this set up might be worth? Fng pontiac ross thought 500.00 was "alot of money" for this motor, and now is mad because i wouldnt sell it to him for that. I think i would personally rather scrap it than sell it for 500.00! Whats your opinions?
