Are those finned headers marine jobs on the engine at front?

  3. Hard seats are a good idea in any engine that will be running modern pump gas. They were not a nesessity for the larger valves though.

One note: there are some engines that don't have enough material to cut out for seat inserts so check before you cut. ;)

    Marcus,
I'm drooling over here! And taking notes! HAHAHA! It's coming together nicely. Can't wait till the next installment! I almost made that Flathead "mistake" once, too! Still piling parts for my next Cad powered project. Possibly starting with the sweet polished CD-694 you sold me way back when! Couldn't bear to let it get away! Ever hear of a successful install of a 390 crank in the 331 block?

So glad to see honest assessments, just plain old facts, as opposed to blind faith in the past. Yea, flatheads are definitely cool . . . but Big Torque and a wide power band is cooler. IMHO:)

    Love it Marcus!

That thing will move with a 390.

If the Caddy heads have exhaust heat crossover passages, this would be a good time to fill them.

  20. Wow! Very nice! I'd like three of those for the dragster. ;)
