Hi, I am installing the PCV in the back of the engine where the road draft tube was with what I learned in a post a few weeks ago on the HAMB and I am hanging the alternator on the driver side of the motor. I have a old set of Mickey Thompson valve covers that are in great condidtion. I know they are late 60s but I really don't have a lot of money right now and I was wondering if I could put the knock out plug back into the hole where the PCV valve is currently? It already had the knock out plugs removed from before where the PCV valve is now. Does anyone ever keep these knock out plugs once they knock them out in the first place. Any help is appreciated J
When you knock them out they are usually junk, why no put an early flat oil fill cap on that side from like a 66 chevy
Really! To bad they are junk after you knock them out. I will take a look at a 66 chevy oil cap. If you look a the picture on the other side of the motor I have a breather oil cap there. J
Cheap and quick? I would suggest this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FRM-FV184/ plus this: http://images.containerstore.com/catalogimages/80183/ChromeEndCaps_l.jpg plus this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KTI-72801/?rtype=10 plus this: http://www.jbweld.com/product/j-b-weld/
get on the ebay and find another one with no holes. it is hard to get a set with no holes, but one out of the pair being virgin is easier to find, then sell the leftover set with holes to someone who likes holes.
If you are just trying to clean up that funky hose you have running across your engine (i don't blame 'ya), run a steel line to the rear like I did.
Possible idea! Those little caps what are they from? BTW Love the hacksaw pic! I know that is one of the things that attracted me to those in the first place. lolololol This isn't a bad idea either. I will troll around and see what I can find! Worst comes to worst this is a real possiblility! lolololol Will all those breathers make it go faster man! lololol Guess this is not a bad idea either man! Thanks for chimming in!
Those are great! If I was to go that route how would I add oil to the motor? hmmmmm? Could I add the oil through the old road draft tube where I am going to put the PCV valve? J
Just talked with the guy and basically bought them over the phone! Wooohoooo! Thanks Panelrat for putting me onto these! J
I wasn't challenging your ability, just making a point and no I didn't look at the picture at that time
