Hi guys, my Dad bought this car at the LA roadster show swap meet for us as a project to build up. We have some ideas on how its going to look like. Our idea is a sixties style pickup with lots of chrome, six carbed y block, maybe candy apple red or another candy colour . So if you had this car, how would you build it?, paint?, engine?, ch***is? and everything else like that. Photos would be great and info to.

    So here she is!

The first thing I'd do is make a stencil of that wonderful scallop, for later use.

That scallop job looks REALLY familiar, like, have I seen that in an old magazine familiar.

Do you know any history on it?

This or that. Extend wb 10" or more and move bellhousing out in front of orig firewall, then pull out bottom of firewall 6" and fill in sides like a '32 firewall. ET III or TTO rears. I like Radir fronts but TTO much cheaper alternative. You need a tall (32") rear tire to make it work. T headers instead of Lakesters or zoomies. With forward engine headers should clear door and you can run exhaust out side of collector and underneath. Dark green with cream firewall. If you keep scallops then add them to a surfer scoop on single four bbl.

I'd put it on 4" blocks and go from there. Low stance and keep the scallops. It looks great already..

Dressed out Hemi, Buick nailhead, or a Flathead.
Full fendered, white toneau cover, chrome nerf type front and rear bumpers, white rolled and pleated interior, wide whites, chrome wheels,w/spyder caps.
Candy apple red, with or without scallops.

I'd try to recreate the exact paint job it has now, color and all. Then paint the frame and wheels to match. Kind of a mid 60's show truck? Goold looking project. Start a build thread when you get to it.
WIth that paint job I'd have to imagine somone could give you some history on it. That could change my plans?

I would use the same colors and paint scheme, thats right on "as is". Other than that keep it a traditional type hot rod, and you should have a nice little truck.

I have found the car in the very first Rod and Kulture magazine at an event called the Primer Nationals. And also in New Zealand Hot Rod magazine as well. Has anyone got any pictures of this car? Thanks in advance.

That's a "pickup" cab made from a 28-29 Tudor cowl, doors and sedan back panel with a 30-31 sunvisor. I think.
    A neat period project. Enjoy.

The first thing you need to do is drop that in my driveway. These things are a royal pain, so let me take that grief off your hands...hehe
Other than that...same scallops, pearl white over deep candy green, white interior, deuce frame if you can afford it, www's, reverse steel wheels painted body color w/trim rings and baby moons, bigs/littles ( of course ), y-block w/multiple carbs, 28-9 grill shell ( not another damned deuce ), low mounted big commercial headlights, chrome nerf bar bumpers, white tonneau cover on bed, quick change rear end, then ***le it in my name...lol..JK...
nice score btw....cool dad, lucky kid.

I'd go with something like this only more refined with flat paint, better fitting box etc..
I mocked this one up and rolled it outside to see what it looked like...started it up and never did much more on it except drive it.
I'm 5'9" and fit fine with channel the width of the frame, [6"?] and a 5.5" chop with the seat on the floor. 59AB flathead, S-10 5 speed, 46 pickup rear axle.

I think it left the factory as a 28-29 Tudor and got shortened up into a pickup, I like the look a lot. Bob :)

if there is serious and do***ented history i don't know if i would build it any different than it already was !! you have a magazine pic to look at !!! build a new and completed ch***is and drop that body on it for a season or two . then repaint the same color and scallops on it . that would be my goal !!!

i see the finished product being a kandy ice blue with the same shaped white pearl scallops and a white pearl firewall, white pearl grill insert on a kandy blue shell kandy blue block on a white pearl and chrome ch***is , marine pearl white pleated interior ,roof insert, and tonneau chrome reversed wheels with big n little www stones
