It's a shame so many were destroyed - but it's great you got what you did. Thanks for sharing and welcome back, Mazooma!

Have a neighbors boy putting long skid marks on my driveway. I figure it is a right of passage for all kids on a bike, and I dont say a word to him. A kid has to be a kid!

Struck you that way too huh?
I may be wrong, but for some reason it looks more recent.
The sunglasses and clothing just look too modern to me.

Could the photo have been taken in Cuba over the past 20 years?

We called that type of bicycle brake a coaster brake.

I remember, even 40 years ago, when I got this negative printed that I thought this guy looked like Richard Petty. I'll never be able to look at this photo again without thinking about that when I was 21.

Right, it's a '56 based on the small fins and squared off rear.

Track bikes is what the pictured guys would call them.

Fixie is hipster talk, they made a scene with them but they've moved on to other things now like artisanal wood chopping.

My riding clothes look about like what those guys have on. My shorts have a pad (chamois) and my shirt wicks sweat. You can dress to ride without dressing like a clown.
