Found this truck sitting along the road in northern Mi while on a color tour this past week-end. The picture showing rust is the only rust I saw. V-8, ran and drove $7000
The hood and grille are not 32 so you better check the firewall to see if it is actually a 32 body or a 33.
1934 hood is missing the Ford oval above the V8, note the mounting holes. 1933 hood has all full height louvers and no emblems. 1933 grille has no grille ornament, only the Ford oval, and no stainless trim around the grille bars.
Maybe someone could take some styling cues from this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HOT-...1792220?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item35c06f63dc
That would make a great old fuel/oil delivery truck as was used back in the day. Gas collectors go nuts over these things. I know I have a newer one by the barn.
Here are a few '32's to look at. The two door leaving the starting line has a 292 with a twelve port head and is a 9.8 second car in the 1320 ft Quarter Mile. Normbc9
I also found this in Northern Michigan when we visited Mackinaw Island last month. Now this is cool yard art....
It's a 33 also. Years ago I looked at a 32 Coal truck. The bed would crank up in the air for second floor deliveries powered by a power take off on the trans. It ran and the power take off worked. The guy wanted too much money for it IMO so I made an offer and he thought I was crazy. 10 mo.s later he called me and said he decided to accept my offer. By then I had moved on to other projects and never bought the truck. My plan was to use it as advertizing for my muffler shop. I thought it would be cool to see a 275 gallon home oil tank made into a muffler 20 feet in the air on the back of a 32 Ford truck.
Regardless of actual year, $7K sounds like a very optimistic asking price for a big old truck like that if you ask me. Early '30's big Ford trucks and early '30's Ford cars are a world apart in value.
Noel Distributing the local Pepsi bottler has one with a nice flatbed that Dee Adams who owned Renegade Raceways built for them several years ago. The truck sees regular duty in local parades, at the fair and during other public events. It's actually a lot nicer than my crappy indoor car show photo shows.
The cab is the same as a 1/2 ton. Why is everybody so sure it's a 33, could be a 32 cab with a 34 hood and shell. Pretty hard to tell with the hood closed. Mick
Being that it's just over 500 mi from home I'm not going to go and lift the hood to check. I was there Sun and am now home
..........So is the 4-door in the pics, but in his defense, he DID say "more 32's" to look at, even though the one launching off the line isn't.
