This is a Texas car, I have found 2 rot spots and I dont like saying rot in this case. There was rust that began to pit on each of the lower front fenders. Other than that this car is solid, spent 27 years in a garage 30 miles from me!
Ok so i got the bushings done on the upper control arms, Air hammers are great. As for the lower control arms I put a little muscle and a big crowbar to use. They came off after a little persuasion. The bolts in the rad support didn't budge so I pulled the control arm backwards off of the bolts.
I know I lucked out, all the cars up here are rust buckets. I'm going to por15 the frame and under body to insure it stays solid! When you gettin the Ford back man I'm getting anxious!
Yeah I hear ya. I had my frame and all suspension components powdercoated on this car but my 60 f100 I por15'd it all and come out pretty nice too. As for the5y...yeah man me too. I'm shooting for mid to end November
Thanks man, I have been very apprehensive about starting the bag system just bc of the lack of knowledge. This weekend I just decided to go for it!
My bags measure 2 3/4" high when fully deflated, I think they are about 11" inflated. Seems like I have plenty of room to work with.
11"!! Wow . That will do The trick. Good luck and holler if ya got any questions i might be able to help with. Looks really good so far
Well a lot for the car is a surprise haha. I don't want to let a lot out yet and get all my ideas and plans taken and done before I do. Not many 55-56 fords and mercs out there done the way we are doing. Especially the lower models that we have.
I didn't expect you to pour out your ideas on this page. I would be surprised if anyone else out there has the same car as me. It's a 56 medalist which was the 2nd lowest model you could get yet the original owner ordered the phaeton trim package which was the most expensive package. So they probably could of bought a Montclair with what they spent on the medalist. And its a 4 door
