Thats pretty bad *** looking, dont make it too pretty. I like the red oxide, just keep some on hand for every other summer freshen up job. Or, a thin coat of black laquer, and compound some off to look worn.

That looks really nice. If you want it shiny, I recommend gloss black. There's nothing more bad*** than black.

  10. for what my vote may be worth ........................ if your partial to the primer and the oxide red color (has my attention ) id just block it out and shoot a flat or semi-gloss clear over it , no maint. and the color stays with out the shine , bad *** truck my man , hope my 40 looks that good some time soon ,

I've always liked the maroon that was on the 2007 or so Toyota FJ Cruisers. They call it black cherry pearl but it might look pretty good with a satin clear coat. They also have a silver that year that comes close to your bare metal look and you can probably drive around town and find one that that color in most areas.

If you have a good paint person they can mix you up a color that comes close to the red oxide but is actual paint.

One thing, if you do a great job on the body work and a great job on the paint it won't matter what color it is as 99 of us will think it looks fantastic and the other 1% won't like any color that any of us put on our rods for some reason or another. Make yourself happy and don't worry about what the rest think colorwise. I've been looking at a lot of colors in the past couple of years and the older as in 60's, 70's or 80's German cars always seem to have several timeless colors that would look great on a rod. Including some dark browns and some dark maroons.

I'm a fan of the red oxide. I like primer though.

That's is a cool color of green, reminds me of our **** carpet color in early 70's. It was so dark green, it looked brown.

  19. Get with the SEM guys - they have HOT ROD low gloss colors and HOT ROD low gloss clear to put over whatever color you like.
I think a Root Beer Brown / Tri-Coat pearl white two tone in low gloss would be beautiful on that truck. Separate it with a candy tangerine small stripe that tapers out... I would have to do a rendering - a whole 'nother topic... Anyway, thats my contribution.

I like the red primer, but a pale gold color might look good on it.

Maybe some metallic, but it wouldn't have to be real shiny.

I thought I was sure all along till now from the start I thought a bare metal look and never realized how many different silver options there are, then some of the darker colors started to get me wandering. I might try and find someone with a program to change the color on a picture for me to get a better idea witch way to go

No matter what color you paint it you'll think....Damned that oxide primer was kool. Jet black is nice. Or red. Maybe dark blue. Orange?

I am not a fan of the flatz stuff. I do like that Army looking Green or as said before Black over that red primer and rub itr through in places. Just don't go metallic.

As soon as I saw this car, first thing went through my mind was they'd matched the color to a swatch of baby ****. But then, I do have a 3 yr old...
