Heck yes,,It already has the look,Some of the Custom guys here are dying for a custom build,,and so am I. HRP
Yep! Post a build tread. Just from that one picture, I can see lots of areas I'd like to see more detail of. Oh...and about the Cadzilla. You wanna build a clone, good luck. It'd be a major undertaking. I feel too, like several others here, that a clone would be more fitting of an iconic Custom or Hot Rod, that no longer exists.
I could be wrong maybe, but the only scale stuff done of Cadzilla were die cast by HotWheels that I'm aware of. 1/64th and 1/18th scale.I've never come across any other versions.
Thousands have made clones....of the chassis anyway. It was first car I saw that had a totally custom chassis. Before Cadzilla everyone modified the crap out of the original frame. Cadzilla started with a clean sheet of paper and some steel tubes. Cadzilla and Chezoom had centerspreads in Hot Rod. July 1989. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41gkOLi1EcL.jpg
So , 3 years ago I ran into the GM Holden designer ( Richard Ferlazzo)that did the Holden 'Effigy" show car and I asked him straight out... were you inspired by Cadzilla??? He just smiled and walked away ! Well after all, it was unveilled at least 15 years after Cadzilla hit the streets..LOL!! Right down to the same darn colour paint and interior colour !!! WTF?? have a look here ........ http://www.supercars.net/cars/3228.html
I have a pretty high level of respect for 'zilla, but it never did roll my socks all the way down. 1st time I saw the spread, yeah I went right to the page, then several things started to just nag at me. Mainly, what the fuck is a moon tank doing on the front of a kustom? Next, the big hoop wheels, then the tails, then the color. To me the color was "another one" at that time. Again, I really respected the talent and some of the vision such as using the bumper guards as mirrors. Some love it so much I believe they'd marry it, and I always did "get it" since the 1st view. Ultimate? The best ever? There were and have been better before and since, and even now when you see it, it's dated styling. Don't be too offended by my comments because it's quite a car. It's just not all that, and on topic, I could see it being inspiration for a partial clone. Not by me though...
LOL. My feelings exactley. I wonder why it is liked so much by this tuff crowd that seems to bash on cars that are way more on topic that this one. Not referring to anyone in particular on this thread, its a general comment cause this car comes up pretty often and ive yet to hear someone say he doesnt like it.
Cloning is a sure sign of admiration and respect for the designer/builder/owner. I'd do it in a heartbeat if the opportunity came up. Can't say the same for sheep though. Over here they are like glass '32's. A dime a dozen.
Not a Fan of CLONING ! you should maybe use CADZZILLA as a reference and build your own KUSTOM car ......
I for one, am glad that there are folks out there, such as your self, who have the talent to build a clone of a long gone car. I would love to see some the cars that were in the Little Pages but can't because they are GONE!! Thanks Chopolds!
