    I find this picture pretty interesting because it is the car that evolved into my roadster seen on the left.

    Can someone explain the green feature pages? The ads were black and white but the feature cars in the center were always done with green ink. This has bothered me for 50 years. Why?

    THIS continues to be a fascinating thread, contributing to the revival of info and images that might be, for practical intents, lost. THANKS, RBAntique for getting it rolling!:cool:

    The GREEN ink was part 2 of a duotone printing process, ostensibly to add emphasis to some photos or features without the cost of four-color printing. It wasn't just rod and custom mags that used this cheesy printer's tool. I've seen it in a lot of pubs that had a slick cover and uncoated (or outright cheap pulp) for the interior pages.

    And you're right. Sometimes, it added an interesting accent, but often it just came off as a goofy, even annoying contrivance.:(
