Hey Phil. Can't tell you the cause, but with my Chevy II ,for time comparision, 60 ft is 1.6, 60 ft-330 ft is 2.836 330 ft to 1/8 in 2.384 6.839 /102.68 in the 1/8 10.685 /127.26 in the 1/4.
The advance timing didn't seem to effect it, it went 7.17 last race, and didn't change anything on the 3 runs. Maybe weather or track, hell maybe I had a tail wind in time trials..lol There is a gasser invitational next Sunday, which is still 1/8 mi, not sure on getting a 1/4 mi. slip John. Baron, now you're showing off with those times..lol

can we see/ can you tell us more about the car? or have you already and i missed it? link us up brother ... owner of page 36 and post 700
Sorry I missed your post, when I called I was second in line, I had to find out if it had a ride back before I tried to buy it. Thankfully for me the other guy backed out and I was just lucky enough to have some luck in getting it. I have a feeling this car may be coming apart rather quickly once we are done racing.
I've been contemplating a glass nose. I see them advertised in race Weight and Street Weight. I wonder what the difference in weight is between the two glass noses and a steel nose.
Clik my truck has a street weight glass front and it was pretty darn close to the same weight as the steel. This front for the J is race weight and is much lighter than the truck, but thinner too of course. The glass door without the top window frame weighed 17 lbs. Now adding the metal frame and holding a steel door in the other hand there was a noticeable difference in weight.

Original trunkless/no option HJ on original frame. Has been on a straight axle for decades. Picked it up and never could determine what the motor mounts were. We drove it through Missouri, Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma on Drag Week in 2011 pulling a trailer. Raced at Gasser Reunion 2012, 75-80 2 weeks ago, BSD this past week. Flat top 355, T400, 9" with 4.10s. Unknown past history. We're making our own

Read post 707. Cubes = 355 Flat top pistons, used assembly installed in a bucket truck block Cam = unknown roller, bought (3) cams for $10 at flea market and stuck the biggest one in. Heads = used aluminum flea market $300 - reworked. Dual plane intake, flea market. 750 Holley, parts deal. HEI, traded for a piece of pizza. Home built headers, cut up flea market stuff. $10 intake rockers. Had to buy the exhaust rockers new. $20 pan.....not much to talk about...it picks up a 1/10 when the fan belt falls off and gets terrible mileage with 4.10s.
Well John I got one in today, freezing cold and you could see your breath the whole day. That was until it started raining like crazy with a small hail storm bringing up the rear. I was trying to watch the tach to see what exactly my convertor stalls at on this pass also. So trying a low rpm launch to watch the flash on the tach didn't do so well for the run. The track sits at 1100 ft but do not know the actual air for the day. 10.50 a.m. 1.55 - 60ft 4.693 - 330ft 7.291 - 1/8 @ 94.33 mph 9.557 - 1000ft 11.493 - 1/4 @ 115.74 got 4 passes in before the rain with the best being the round robin run right after the first pass 11.04 a.m. 7.21 @ 94.88
Done for the day and next few days, my back is killing me. I got the hood cut for that stuff that sticks out of it and the door hung, everything just loose for trial fitment. Whole new look with the orange, it even reflects an orange tint from the sun shining in the window. and a pile of parts
Wow, like the orange....and your garage looks so clean too...instead of bad moon, it could be "Orange J"
Thanks, it's got to get a lot higher for those wheelie bars but hey , ya never know. I hope so Baron, it's easy to tell the weight difference while handling all the parts at the same time. It's lighter for sure ! It's not staying "Rebel Reaper" orange, it'll have a white base with panel paint, 60's style. Nothing fancy, it'll be a computer screen bleacher seat job that fits my budget...lol
