ford 200 6 cylinder distributor

    i want a electronic distributor for my '66 ford 200 six cylinder. dont have the original one. see an hei for four hundred. thats not gonna happen. any suggestions? gonna get a beer. want one?
     
  2. Put a Pertronix in a stock points distributor and your done. about a hundred bucks.

    If that is still the "Loada matic" POS get one from about 68 up with mechanical advance then put in a Pertronix in it if you must. Points forever !! LOL

    yup. that's probably the cheapest route. another cheap option is to grab a junkyard duraspark setup, but i the pertronix should still be cheaper and less trouble by far--they run in a stock distributor, you just swap out the rotor and points for the pertronix box.

    of course, if you have to buy a new distributor anyway, you might break even

    If you decide to stick to points and condenser, buy oreilly brand... They are lifetime warranty

    Or, ya could hit the wrecking yard and pick up a Dura Spark II unit from any '75 and up 200 or 250. A new "blue grommet' box for about thirty bucks and your home free. Here's a wiring diagram.

    im doing research for the same thing. what car should I give reference for at the parts store???... im looking at Autozone and O'reilly and they show the same part for a 65 falcon and a 70 maverick

    Suck up to some Aussie's here on the hamb and see if you can get one of them to send you a factory electronic "dizzy" from an xc to xf falcon crossflow.
    It'll bolt into an early 200 and they usually do 100's of thousands of KM's trouble free [ divide by 1.6 to convert to miles :D ]

    The promise of a beer! you'll get the whole country willing to help you.
