i want a electronic distributor for my '66 ford 200 six cylinder. dont have the original one. see an hei for four hundred. thats not gonna happen. any suggestions? gonna get a beer. want one?
If that is still the "Loada matic" POS get one from about 68 up with mechanical advance then put in a Pertronix in it if you must. Points forever !! LOL
yup. that's probably the cheapest route. another cheap option is to grab a junkyard duraspark setup, but i the pertronix should still be cheaper and less trouble by far--they run in a stock distributor, you just swap out the rotor and points for the pertronix box. of course, if you have to buy a new distributor anyway, you might break even
Or, ya could hit the wrecking yard and pick up a Dura Spark II unit from any '75 and up 200 or 250. A new "blue grommet' box for about thirty bucks and your home free. Here's a wiring diagram.
""If that is still the "Loada matic" POS get one from about 68 up with mechanical advance"" im doing research for the same thing. what car should I give reference for at the parts store???... im looking at Autozone and O'reilly and they show the same part for a 65 falcon and a 70 maverick
Suck up to some Aussie's here on the hamb and see if you can get one of them to send you a factory electronic "dizzy" from an xc to xf falcon crossflow. It'll bolt into an early 200 and they usually do 100's of thousands of KM's trouble free [ divide by 1.6 to convert to miles ] The promise of a beer! you'll get the whole country willing to help you.
