Buying a car is nice but inheriting or buying a family vehicle makes it way more fun and exciting. Never had that kinda luck. Nice happy story.

[IMG]Hopefully someday you can hand it down to your grandchildren.

Keep em coming. Some great projects and finished panels, deliveries, and wagons here.
When I got my wagon near the end of the 80's not many people fixed them up. Like a fool I later traded it for another car. Soon replaced it with a panel truck. Now have the panel to finish and got my wagon back.
Recently rodders and customizers are realizing these vehicles are very handy people and parts haulers.

Here's the way the '60 Chevy Brookwood wagon is sitting right now...took about two hours to get it his way when it got into my garage a couple of weeks ago...got all winter to get it roadworthy with a 454" and a built T-400...

See post # 468 for a "before" shot...

Two doors have always been more appealing than four doors for me. I have done several over the years including a sedan delivery, wagons and a couple of panels. I even used one of my 2dr wagons to create my 56 ElCamino. Next up sitting in the barn is a 66 Malibu wagon that I am currently gathering parts for. My design plan is to turn it into a 2dr Nomad.
I try to build them user friendly. Growing up our kids enjoyed our panel trucks when we went to shows and sometimes camping.
The 37 sedan delivery was one of my favorites. The kids deserved some windows when we traveled so I turned this one into a window delivery with fold down rear seats and some nice storage options. After I sold it we saw it in Rodders Digest where they made some nice comments on my design. Later we saw it featured in May 96 Street Rodder. I made contact with the new owner and we shared some information. The last time I saw the car it was advertised for sale in Goodguys.
The 55 Handyman was a nice restoration that I got in a trade for one of my 37 sedans. It was way too nice to cut up. The 56 also had a nice body but this time I went forward with a plan I had wanted to do for a long time. I am happy with the results so I guess I made a good choice.

Maybe because it has at least two doors?

Maybe I partied too much back in the '60s and '70s but I don't remember a sedan delivery version back then. :D In any event, thats pretty cool!

Actually the 92 made is a wives tale for the windowed deliverys, years ago a bunch of us came up with a higher number but nothing is really documented on them including the window option for the delivery that could have been done in a few different configurations. Do you have any of the Navy info from the Navy Dept data tag?

  30. Our eldest granddaughter Hannah has already laid claim to the wagon,,but Brenda says it's gonna be a long time until she gets the keys,,for now she is just going to have to be happy ridding in the back seat. HRP
