Wish I had taken a picture of Keith Weesner sleeping in his roadster a couple years ago when I showed up at 7am to post here. Another bako local "Model A Dave" sleeps in the bed of his model A pickup sometimes...

A few of us went in on a good size RV(thanks John) & we'll be in the spectator RV section around 800 to 1000 feet,red & white golf cart...I'm headed up late Friday afternoon.
I'll also be hangin around this car on and off all weekend.
The owner may not like it,but he'll live. My name's on it so why not.

Ron Leek from Byron(Rockford for the oldtimers]Drag strip will be announcing. Nhra asked him to do the Bowling Green meet this summer, and he is so good at his job they asked him to come to the coast and do it again.Wish I could be there.

leaving for Bakersfield Thursday. The CHRR is always a blast, love the swap meet!

 

Ask any one on a golf cart on the spectator side where the pig roast is
Or look for the Umbrella Bar. We hope to get in the 3rd row about 1/2 track. Bar open for the weekend. Doing the pig roast Saturday. I have to go into town from about 1-4 but some one will be there roasting ole porky

 

Wouldn't miss it for the world. I'll be there all weekend wrenchin' on Jason Rupert's "Mert Littlefield Tribute" funny car.

 

Have fun billy,can't make it this year. Bummed to say the least.

I couldn't sleep and all these posts aren't helping. Looking forward to seeing old friends , making new ones , Zingo's for breakfast, Hodel's for supper,and Milt's just to see if Jay Taback still cooks there. Billy you know Speed Sport ('Ol Noisy) will be there along with Pure Hell , Pure Heaven, Rat Trap ,Bradford's and The Wing, Newhouse Special and a cast of thousands !Oh , I darn near forgot The Pig !! Knotty Pine is real good, I like Pappy's in Rosedale also for the oilfield stuff and good eats. be headed up early tomorrow and all weekend. Hope to get to meet ya this year roughneck.

 

I did Famoso last weekend and will be doing El Mirage this weekend so I wont be there. But my Model A will be there! Go see it on display at the Boling Bros. booth.

 

Currently in route. It will be a little different to just be watching this year. Should be a great weekend.
