I knew that State Farm agent. Post 54278.

Apparently most A & W's were built alike. The one back in our hometown finally changed it's name to the owner's name. Franchise got too expensive and it was already well known for good fast food. Most of us called it Cranwells A & W or just Cranwells for years anyway.

I graduated from high school in 1968.

The pictures of the Mustangs, GTOs, SS Chevelles and A&W stands REALLY hit home. All that's needed is a Roadrunner or two to make it perfect.

    Thanks!

  5. This is how it all started. Today we have kids that weigh 200lbs at ten years old. On the way to school they stop by and get a Big Gulp 42oz. to get the day started, and if you call them " Little Hog's the mom's get mad, and the cops have to be called. What a wonderful time we live in.

Kids and young adults are not fat.............. they are just big boned.
Ya notice in looking at all of these threads of the past you see very few obese people of any age! And diabetes was rare. It's not just how much we eat it's the crap we eat and how it's genetically altered.

As a year book photographer in the 50's I remember taking these photos for the advertising
pages in the year book. Always fun to look back and remember the kids in them.

Before he was famous, Sonny Bono was an exhaust gas analyzer. Cher had a bug, rumors have it. Gary

Too much "games on screen & texting" instead of outdoor fun & exercise.

Kids were not allowed to sit around all day to get to 200 pounds back then,if the weather was decent out they went and did not come home until dinner time. I was too busy running around to get fat when I was young.

  16. We were too busy too, to get 'chubby'. On the go almost constantly! This pic (below) depicts how many of us when we were kids? Add a baseball bat and a glove to the handlebars and it could'a been from my 'hood:

Look at it from the modern moms' points of view.
Today you can't turn your back on your kids in your own yard because someone is going to molest them, or worse yet, snatch them, and you never see them again.
It's not our world anymore, and it ain't right.
