Decided to work on my crew cab this weekend. Started with a rusty Airforce truck, and a 55,000 mile 1 ton

Lots of work ahead, but it felt good to drive it out of the shop tonight.

Im definitely a newb to these trucks. And, I love the stance you have. But, I am curious how you "center" the wheels in the openings. I noticed you said you move the front axle centerline and the rear moved forward...how is this accomplished?

Getting #9 road worthy. Just replaced the ugly 80s mags with stock steelies. Original paint. y-block 3 speed with over-drive.

Hey guys got a suspension question.. I got a 59 f100 that has a volare clip on the front and flipped rear axle and a home made notch job on the back end. Im getting ready to fix the notch and noticed I have a bunch of broken leafs springs. Ive been pricing out the springs and no matter if I get the reg spring pack ..or the mono leafs.. it all seems to be over 5-600 bucks. Im trying to keep the truck in a budget so I want to try to be a bit wise where the money is going. lots of guys tell me put leafs back in and weld the shocks back on it, and others are saying 4 link it.. and then I hear bag it. I do like it low, and the volare clip in the front takes it low enough for my needs, so it doesnt need to" lay frame" really. But I have no idea about bags, how to put a system together, what I would need.. do they just sell a kit that I can get for the rear only or do I need to piece it together?? the craziest Id go would be to let the *** end hit the ground while parked.. then up for driving.. so maybe just 1 switch? I dont need left right sideways what ever... Id like to keep the spending down.. but it seems either way I go its going to be 5-600 bucks .. Can i get a bit of advice? maybe someone that can tell me how to do a budget airbag kit.. or should i just fix the leafs and run those?
    Thanks

Got my parts truck hauled home. I now have a big window crewcab. Going after another parts truck with a short wide box, tomorrow.

This was a 3/4 ton with a lot of rust for our area. it will also provide some much needed pieces for my panel.

The panel is a major project, but I have rounded up all of the parts. After clipping the back of the crewcab I have learned a few tricks.

Pictures of the crewcab progress soon.

Contact your local spring shop and have them rebuild your spring packs. It should be way cheaper than buying new ones. I would shy away from the mono leafs as your truck will be dragging *** with the axle already flippped and they ride typically like ****. I may have an extra set of leaf springs. I'll check.

Nice 59 Big window. What color was it from the factory? Been thinking about spotlights on my crewcab, I'm going for a modified fully loaded look.

Wasn't 59 the first year of a factory 4X4? I could be reading more into it than I should. Hope you didn't cut up a rare conversion.

My buddy, Tom's 60. 361 chrysler, typewriter drive with a Cordoba front. Nice truck. I think I put more miles on it than Tom does.

Had the same problem. On my second door I shaved off some material and drilled relief holes so the air would squeeze out and collapse the seal.

It was two tone, blue and off white...forget the color codes. Spotlight was on it when I got it and it works awesome! I love it but it needs a handle though. I'd love to find another one for the p***enger side.
