There are a lot of cars like this up in the disgusting iron range of MN
Most "owned" by old farts who will throw just as rusty cans at you for looking and asking about the car.
In Virginia, MN there was a 68 Charger, just sitting "I'm gonna work on it" 4 years later the only thing worked on that is more rust and a broken window from someone.
Maybe when these crabby old men die someone will drag their cars off and do something useful with them.

This thread just make me want to open a classic salvage yard and go hunting for any and everything we can save.

  4. I remember a time that some self service wrecking yards in the LA area didn't want Ramblers. They advertised that they paid a certain price for any car except Ramblers.

I hear you on that .We "own " 5 acres up here.I have a few right now but If I can save and hold onto any for the future I will.I just wish my wife was into it too:rolleyes:

  7. You'd see very few parts pulled off these cars. There wasn't much of a demand for them due to their so called boring image.
They actually seemed like good well built cars.

I have a route of oilwells that I take care of for my job, I've been seeing this roofline in the trees for a couple weeks so I finally asked the farmer if I could go out and have a look.....

    Anybody care to identify?

I don't know to much about them. They look neat to me.I'm going to pay him every so often over this winter so they will be paid for when the snow melts.I'll clean them up and park them I have a 41 Plymouth and 49 Chrysler ahead of them :D

I wish I was "rich" I'd grab them all and start that Farthest north classic car yard;)

He said they belonged to his brother who lives on the farm a couple miles away, I've met him before and he's a nice guy. I'm going to follow up and see if he wants to sell anything. He also owns these (from an earlier post).

Damn good luck with that...Those are really cool:D

  16. They let them rot in black and white too. One was clearly too far gone and one was saveable - surely my dad didn't save it but I hope someone did...

A few trucks near Goffstown, NH.

  21. The white one is a '40, the one behind it is a '41. Those headlights and headlight stands will fit '38 and '39 trucks, the headlights are also a bolt-on for '35 car. '40 was the first year for sealed beams, and the '40-'41 big truck headlight stands have the little parking lights in them that are the same as '37-'40 car interior lights except with glass instead of plastic lens.

If you need trim or anything from the belt line up its there, from there down most are just rotted away. Such a shame that nobody found this about 25yrs ago, might have been able to save alot of it.
