Projects 1951 mercury build

This time I will stay for lunch!!

 

No doubt that Larry and crew will finish this in fine style! Its looking better every time I see it.

 

Well it has been a while since I have posted anything and when I woke this morning and checked my emails. I recieved a birthday present which was pics of the front end work on my car. What a great birthday gift. Larry and Chris are doing a great job with the looks of this car. I hope to have more picts this week. It is looking beter and better every week.

 

got more pictures. They are building the skirts now. We got the lower rear quarters extended and now the to fit the skirts. How to be in prime by the end of the month. fingers crossed

well she is broke down again and blasted her. She should be shot with primer now. The metal work is completed. Now she should start makeing final prep work for paint. I hope to get the frame work completed by end of next month and be a roller. stay tuned

Well it has been a while since I have posted anything on my mercury, but I am home on vacation and got to see my other woman. Larry and Chris have been bustin ass to get the car this far along. I am thrilled to death to see it coming along. I am posting the progress so far. Let me know what y'all think. I am diggin the trunk corners. I am havin problems loading the pictures so I have to load one at a time.

Does your engine/trans location fill out the trans tunnel pretty good? I did my 51 the same size as yours at first, ended up taking more than 3/4 of it out.

Yes the engine and tranny fit in there real well. We built it so that everything will sit above the frame so as not to hit anything while at it lowest ride setting. I have attached a picture to give you an idea of how it looks. If you would like more pictures of it I will be glad to show them to you.

Thanks for all the great comments. Matt I can not wait to see this car in paint too. We will have to wait a few more months on that Chris is massaging her to perfection right now.

 

Looking good! I especially like the body line around the back under the rear window. I often think that looks better than a straight line all the way back to the trunk.
