"We will win or die" just perpetuates the common misconception that the soldier's first and highest duty is to die for his/her country. Not so. He/she has to make sure that the enemy dies for his/her one!.

Some of the many photos we have up in a post on The Old Motor along with a really cool video, showing
the Curtis-Wright Air-Car in operation.

Wow! Can you just smell that black smoke a huffin' outta there??? I remember

This covered bridge photo is so well composed and perfectly seasonally lit. I suppose "Turkey Run Narrows" was photographed in the first quarter of the 20th Century:confused:; anybody know WHERE this particular Turkey Run was/is? Can somebody blow this up so I can frame it and put it on the wall??? Another INSTANT CLASSIC on this great thread! :):):)

With ya there, man! Along with "To Serve Man"! :eek:That cat with the thick glasses & the Geraldo expression is the very versatile Burgess Meredith. He was good in drama (e.g., "Rocky") to comedy (e.g., "Grumpy Old Men"). RIP

Very often, "Twilight Zone" scripts hinged on a cleverly unexpected plot twist
at the end. Thanks to Wikipedia, Agnes Moorehead takes on "The Invaders" in
Episode 15, Season #2, of "The Twilight Zone" TV anthology series, broadcast
January 1961. Chillingly, Moorehead never utters a spoken line during the
episode, making it (IMO) one of the very best! As with most anything "Twilight
Zone," the photo is copyrighted and is shown here only for shared enjoyment
and vintage pop-culture discussion. Not for use in for-profit publications.

One of my favorite episodes. However the "freak" was played by Donna Douglas, AKA Ellie Mae Clampett.
