Whats CDS stand for? The wall thickness doesn't look real even! Killer build by the way, I'm subscribed to this one.
You are getting close, Steve. Pretty exciting I bet. What all do you have to do to take the first drive ? Don
Well Don I still need to finish off the motor but that's about it, unfortunately a lot of my motor parts are at my shippers in New York and there are no flights out at the moment because of the storm I didn't want to let the show organiser down as he had been good enough to invite me so I put together a donkey motor out of spare parts I have to make it look complete, I won't be opening the hood .
This storm has things really screwed up. Maybe you can talk Sue into pushing you into the show while you make motor noises. Shoot some pictures at the show for us. Don
Running or not, what you have done to this car is amazing. If anyone complains, tell them to join the H.A.M.B.and read this thread. If they still complain, show them your BFH video...
Well been putting in some hours and the fruits of the labour is its nearly there, just the front clip to bolt on, about 20 minutes work. Sorry for the crap pic but it gets dark here early.
Steve, I freaking love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to do a Willys now, I have a line on a glass one.....
Thanks Eric, I've been burning the midnight oil this week to get it done, still got a couple of problems to get around on the blower drive & water pump but they are only minor ones, at least its now almost a complete car.
Go for it Mark, nothing wrong with glass Willys, you will always get the glass haters (I've had a few comments myself) but take no notice of them because if you went back to the 60's and asked them guys if they wanted a nice light glass shell instead of their heavy steel one they would of jumped at the chance I'm sure.
Steve, you've been kickin' ass on that baby - the car looks friggin awesome! I can't wait to hear/see it run on my next trip over the pond .... hey, being only 5'2" tall, can I reach the pedals?!??!?!
Great looking car Steve. Love the 'Bubba Gumps' graphic. Incidentally, why did you go for a Caddy lump as opposed to (arguably) the more popular choices?
Well got the front on this evening and thanks to Jasons help its all ready to go, Had a slight problem with the willys rearend being 77" wide and the trailer 72" wide, solved the problem by borrowing the new wheels off Wiggy's T Sorry about the pics but its flipping dark here.
If anyone wants to see the best all steel black Willy's coupe there is, its owned by a fellow Hamber Willy's Guy. I've never seen a better Willy's anywhere.
Damn, Steve, you really nailed it. Not one thing on that car I would change (except the name on the title ) Looking forward to the first video. Don
I could have told you a hundred different times how great this build was coming along. Decided to wait and do it once. Very impressed, awesome, and enjoy!
