Everything should fall into place after we get a front spring...

What a pain in the ass this front axle is.

    Big update!

I've gotten some huge help from some fellow HAMBers.
Bgbdlnc gave me the coolest radiator ever!
Shawnsauto1 still had some springs that went his way in our previous deal.

    Huge scores!

Thank you guys both very much!

The bolt through the A rear spring was broken and it looked like it was about to come apart.

Using a tech thread I reversed the front spring eyes and de-arched it.

It might be a bit narrow but we're going to see what we can do.

Now we have to clearance the bottom of the frame a bit too...

How much clearance do you fellas think we'll need?

  3. If it wasn't for fiberglass bodies I can well imagine that the sport
of Hot Rodding would be a dead duck in water for the most part.

I would love to have a steel body.

    Need more spring clearance...

  5. That's great what you did with that spring. I wondered what you were going to do with it being arched so much. Now I've learned something new!

    Thanks skatermann!

Went to Ancaster today and picked up a Model T tank for $20...

Went back to the garage to mess with the car a little.
It's starting to look like something.

Speedy_Canuck brought some rear u-bolts over for me to us and we'll get some Model A rear shackles soon and the rear placement will get figured out.

Pretty damn good Sunday if you ask me!

Nope, I think it's too narrow...
I'm looking for a different dropped axle anyway now it seems.
    Kind of a bummer.

No, it reminded me how much I want to paint it!

At least it'll be a roller soon and I'll be able to put the floor in it...

NortonG, that body colour combo looks perfect. It reminds me of the "Big T" model kit from my youth. Not the same colour but I think it POPS! Please re-think your plans on paint.

  24. So much progress!!!:eek::eek::eek: Love the T tank:cool:

  25. We need to do a drunken Caddy nite soon as well and yell "Heil Hot Rods" to everyone and ask them "do you like fiberglass hot rods?" hahahahahaha

I'm still watching you and I like what I see. Quit worrying about the fiberglass body. As long as you don't start junking it up like they did in the late '60s and '70s (and I see you aren't) It will be fine and you'll have more leg room that you'll be happy for when you get my age.

    I totally agree!
Paint it 56 Ford Mandarin Orange and detail in a cream White(Wimbleton) and you got Bank.

    Great work Grimmee.

    Thanks fellas!

I'll look into that colour Jeff.
Dark green is still what I have in mind. White accents for sure! Maybe even white suspension parts...
I'm pretty excited to get a floor into the body! Getting the frame and suspension set up first is priority. Just a handful of parts away from making that happen right now.

The car is in Cambridge at my parents place and my dad has been doing lots of fab work...
