Hey Jimi, you seem to know a lot about these things. The guy with his head sticking out of the pie.....looks like the guy who played Joe Doaks in the movie shorts of the 1940's. Isn't this the same guy who played George Jetson in the Hanna-Barbara show of the early '60s?

Awesome, ehdubyah! How the heck do you guys come up
with these magical links so fast? Sometimes, I can put the
cursor on a pic, and info appears. But mostly NOT. Don't
know if I'm an exception, but I surely enjoy photos more
if at least the year and locale are mentioned. THANKS!:)

(BTW, SWI/Gay posted the pic first. The system sometimes
attributes "Originally posted by" to the next person who
quotes the item. Goes with the territory, I guess.)

Good question, AutomaticSlim. I went right by it, just thinking it was Dino Martin, maybe pre-Lewis. I'll see if I can find anything to answer the question, bro.

Wow, the Helms man. When I was a kid, nothing made our mouths water more than when we heard the whistle blow and here he comes. It was Pavlovian like in how we responded. And when he slid out the those wooden trays to dispaly all the do-nuts wrapped in wax paper, man you could smell it. To hell with the ice cream man.

I am going to put my credibility on the line here and say.... Dino and.....Rosemary Clooney? Well its pumpkin pie anyway, that I am sure of.

I scratched a bit. The first guy to play in a PLETHORA of Joe Doakes (aka Joe Blow, later, your Mr. Average Guy) shorts was Robert Benchley, from 1939 through '44. He died in '45 of liver failure, though he'd been a teetotler early on. He didn't look at all like the guy in the pumpkin pie, SO, maybe the series was carried on with someone else in the role? On we search! (BTW, Robert was Peter Benchley's grandfather, and we all know what famous book HE wrote!)

You look for one thing and turn up something ELSE! Isn't that the way it works? We were in some serious doubt a few days ago on WHO the ladies in this '51 promo shot were with Martin & Lewis.

The lady at left (who, here, looks a tad like Janet Leigh to me) is actually Marion Marshall. Not surprisingly, she was in numerous early Martin/Lewis movies. Not only was she good looking, she was also the girlfriend of Hal Wallis who produced most of those early films!:)

Someone thought that might be Rosemary Clooney at right, but it's Polly Bergen -- with lighter hair than I remember her. Incidentally, Dean and Jerry formed their partnership in '46, made their first film appearance in '49 ("My Friend Irma') and finally called it quits after 10 years in '56 when they only spoke to eachother on screen.

  14. ive seen big wheels snap in half from jumping them

he had a good reason for that look your rear is just mere inches from the pavement and molded plastic isnt the softest thing in the world lol id bet that big wheels rear axle was bent beyond ridable after that jump

i loved my big wheels had like 5 of them (kept wearing out the front wheels) also had the big green machine it wasnt as much fun

I kinda hate to admit it, but the descendants of this football team from Bowlegs, Oklahoma (1936), beat the high school in which I work last night, 76-44. I wonder what color these uniforms are, as they are now blue.

Jimi, a browser plugin or extension which allows you to right click on an image and search for other instances of it from the popup menu is how.

Ellen Drew - with the superb figure stands next to Dick Powell
    - in the publicity Still photo from, the 1947 Noir film, Johnny O'Clock.
Ellen plays the part of Nelle Marchettis, ...Talented Missouri-born Ellen Drew
was born Esther Loretta Ray in 1915, the daughter of an Irish barber.
She worked various jobs (accountant, salesgirl) to support her family
until her fresh-faced good looks and high-wattage smile earned her
a couple of beauty pageant trophies. Encouraged to try her luck in Hollywood,
she was discovered in somewhat typical Lana Turnerfashion. While working
at an ice cream parlor, customer William Demarest (*Uncle Charley ,My Three Sons Fame)
took notice of her and was instrumental in having her put under contract at Paramount Studios in 1936.
