which do you like better and why. i know alot of people that love coupes but i see alot of tudors now a days.
28-32 Sedans are a favorite of mine.. I don't know I would build a Model A coupe! You have to be an aerobics instructor to get in an out those things, when your tall. Model A Coupes are something I can only admire.
I like sedans channeled and low. Coupes look good up on deuce rails. Just a rear wheel placment prederence. If that makes sense
Me and my dad have a 30 model coupe and a 26 tudor as well as a 28 tudor. I don't have a problem fitting in the coupe, but there is more room in the tudors. I'm right at 6', but they ride nice and drive grate.... So in short I like on the fence on this one they all have there pors and cons.......
I would build a 32 5W if I was to build a Coupe.. I really admire 28-29 Phonebooth Peecups, but just not feasible for me!
Both are great body styles, but Tudors just seem to be that much more practical and versatile, especially if you and your family are into hot rod runs etc. Tudors have lots of lockable space and leg room to boot. Rumble seats are more a novelty for most parts and model A trunks dont do much if you are low.
My first "from the ground up" hot rod (in 1959) was a '28 av8 coupe. I was 6' tall and just fit in it. Today I'm 6'2" and a 100# heavier. Guess which I would build today? It's a matter of time and tonnage. Frank
COUPES ARE FOR CHICKENS!!! maybe that's coops, i don't know. love the look of coupes and would build one in a minute. also love my tudor, so it's a wash for me.
Coupes are cool but sedans are where it's at. Alot more room for your stuff or for friends on a night out.
for me price also plays into the equation. coupes tend to be more $$$ even for junk. coupes are nice but l agree with age and tonnage is a BIG factor don't fit in smaller spaces as good l use to. Later
I love 36 Ford flat back Tudor.. but other than that 35 - 41's I prefer the coupe. I had a 46 Sedan, I sold it cos it was a sedan in the end!
Im a coupe guy but i have seen sedans that are spot on.as far as fitting in one im 6'5 andfit pretty good with package tray removed and mine is channeled 4 inches i just cant chop it too
Had all body styles but prefer the coupes altho if you are going for a heavy chop and channel the sedans look better IMHO as the rear wheels stay below the body, unlike some coupes and roadsters.
2 bodies scream HOTROD loud and clear, Coupes and Roadsters. No matter whether fenderless or full-fendered with aprons and boards. Tudors are great, I have a 29 Tudor project myself, and they say HOTROD too just not quite as loud as C & R do. Fenders etc don't matter either.
I'm not usually one to harp on tradition, because it's a relative term. But the first hot rods, the original hot rods, the dry-lakes cars, were always roadsters. No coupes were raced at all. Eventually, a coupe class was formed, and they began to have a presence. But make no mistake...sedans were considered to be family cars. But times change, and coupes are becoming rarer, and roadsters rarer still. I also understand the need for more room and protection from the weather. A desire for a closed car with roll-up windows is where the term arose, "Coupes are for chickens." For me, the roadster will always be the first, the original, the real hot rod. But who can deny the popularity and the history that the coupes have also enjoyed. I like coupes too. But when it comes to sedans, I still can't rid myself of that "family car"****ociation. I personally would never want a sedan as a hot rod, even a fenderless '32. So for myself, between sedans and coupes, it's gotta be a roadster...I mean a coupe.
Coupes for sure, but sure won't put down a roadster or a tudor! This is just my little opinion. If I get any fatter gonna have to sell the coupe and get a tudor.
Coupe for me, thanks. A tudor would be okay, I guess. But nowhere near as cool. Incidentally, I've always preferred 28-29 tudors and roadsters, but 30-31 coupes.
I owned a full fendered sedan when I was young and I really liked the looks of that car. But i always lusted for a coupe because to me they were the hot, sporty models. Now I am 75% finished building a '30 A coupe and I sure hope that I can fit in it.
On my budget, definitely my 30 Tudor! If Santa wants to leave my choice under my tree, I'll take a coupe. But, I'll still have my sedan!
I prefer the sedan because you have a lot more room to enter and exit as well as leg room for "comfort"
