  1. You would be done by now if you would keep Frank away from it and quit pushing it outside for pictures!
Just jabbin ya. No idea how I missed this build. It's looking damn good. Look forward to seeing it around.

    Wow! Beautiful!

I love the six. That Edelbrock is such a rare and beautiful piece.

I've got Poncho rear bumpers waiting in the wings for my '50.
    Any pics/tips on the brackets?

Frank hasn't been over yet to help me work on it and the only way to get a good look on how stuff looks is from far away hence me pulling it outside. I'm in no rush to finish it, it will be done when it is right.

The brackets were not too difficult, I ended up modifying my 53 brackets to work with the poncho bumpers, no pics sorry

Skirts were never in the plan for this car. I love the look of them but not for this project.

Awesome build! Great attention to detail. I am diggin' every detail you have put into this transformation. Your business coupe looks awesome sittin' still; it's gonna be even better cruisin' down the road. Keep up the great work, and keep posting pictures. Awesome find on that intake... I'm jealous...

Worked on the lower panel for below the 55 tail light yesterday. Turned out just the way I had pictured it in my head which is great. I have lots more work left to complete the swap but its starting to look more and more complete everytime.

Cut out the old sheetmetal first and here is the new piece ready to be fitted into place.

Panel is tacked in place and now cutting and working down the quarter.

Cut down as low as the bumper and tacked as low possible. Left the bottom to be finished next time, wanted to work on fitting as much as possible with the bumper on to get the lines right.

Inner radius panel started. This was an absolute bitch as compound curves are very hard to achieve with the tools i have access too. Ended up rolling a piece and then having to put relief cuts in it to get it curve back towards the trunk.

Lower panel fitted. The bottom still needs to be cut off at the bottom of the body. I left it long as I will be hammer forming a splash pan that will be radius'd and welded into the bottom of the body.

Next up is to finish the upper inside tail light patch piece back into the quarter and trunk. I hope to cut out and reuse the compound radius as it will be easier than making a new piece altogether.

Thanks dude, I personally think this back bumper suits the car perfect and once the tail lights and splash pan are done, they will too.

Glad you like the bumper now Walt. It's sometimes hard posting up pics of things that aren't finished yet. It's only gonna look better as more gets finished.

I like the 55 lights in there a whole lot... but the part under the light doesn't jive for me... I think it needs a little angle to it instead of straight down. Kinda like this 56... See what you think?

can you roll it outside and take a side shot?

I normally would fully agree with chaddilac but I think the 55 bezels may be high enough that it could work?

I have ran into this issue with the 56 packards in my 54.

I would pull it outside but our weather up here is super wet and hasn't been a dry day in a few weeks. I will once the one side is complete. It looks from the pictures that the bottom piece is square but it is actually angled inwards towards the car a few degrees to get away from it being really square. I did not want to angle outwards as the bezel has square edges and would not look correct. Once the radius'd pan is molded into the bottom it will look better.
