I picked up a pair of doors for my Model A project, some one welded house door hinges to it and one of the doors has the entire leading edge of the door bent in 90 degrees. It looks like the best way to repair the doors is to separate the inner and outer door sections. Are there any spot welds on the door lip? There are some dents on the inner structure as well that is why I think take the skin off is easiest.

they didn't spot weld A's, as far as i recall.. they can be separated by unfolding the seam carefully if you're actively trying to save the skin, or grinding the edge off it if not. straighten the bent areas as best you can, and you might bring the dents out iin the process. post some pics of your problem areas and there's probably a hundred guys here that have dealt with them before.

Ok here are some shots, the steel is solid and the skins overall are relatively strait. The hinges are br*** house door ones and only brazed on, all the burn marks are from where I un-brazed them.

Bottom drivers door is cut and folded in, inside structure is banged in

P***enger side was folded over top to bottom

Reskinned a '31 roadster, and the outer was 'tacked' in a few locations,
looked as though it was OEM Ford. The skin will pry up, and may have what appear like spot weld contacts. Good luck, you have a method that should work.

Well I am working on a 29, guy I got the from said they were 28-29, the doors match what is left of my other doors. So I am pretty sure they should fit the first gen model a.

If they are from some thing else, then they will be going on my b*sterd of a project any ways.

i 've seen worse... my Dad would have fought you for those. nearly all of the stuff he was able to scrounge was beat to hell and back...

of all the parts i wish i'd had the foresight to save, his A parts stand out.

I started with right door, found some spot welds. the skin seams to be bending back OK but the thicker inner structure is cracking where it is supposed to b a 90 degree lip. So it will need some more welding and grinding to repair that as well. Unfortunately the drivers door has more rot on the bottom edge then initial inspection indicated. which is good and bad. I wont pull the whole skin off that on, most of the damage is at the bottom so it will be simpler to get a patch panel and while it is a part I can beat the dents out of the inner structure.

Depending upon the match of the repair panel's 'curve' you may want to
build/pound/form a closer 'bow'-ing into it. [look down on the top patch panel edge
    when its held in place]
