Can't speak for the Winton appearance, 'tho it's likely to be the same. This car was at Rob Roy hillclimb a month or two ago - and it was still in Australia a week ago. Don't think the owner has plans to move it along just yet. It was with a group of pre 1930 French cars in an event here in South Australia - Amilcars, Salmson, etc plus our Sizaire.

Re the belt drive - the original would have been belt, but like tyres, belts have to be replaced by something a little more "modern" - and a little less perished.;)

That Rolland Pilain has me wondering:
Has anybody here had success detuning a modern four cylinder motorcycle engine?
Seems like a natural choice to use a 600cc-1000cc four in a cyclecar but they seem to have just too much oomph or are too high strung for a vintage styled car.
Could one be converted to single or double carbs in an attempt to calm it down?

I'd think taking a sliver off the cam lobe flanks would be more the thing, if it's really necessary. Liquid-cooled motorcycle fours, turned north-south, are an increasingly popular choice for Lotus 7 clones: http://www.google.co.za/#hl=en&scli...c8813678a35d02&bpcl=38626820&biw=1440&bih=733
