Bob those are copies of lightcar and cyclecar the vintage sportscar club has bound copies of all years , addictive viewing once you start flicking through there are so many interesting articals I have a camera set up and take pictures of anything I find vaguely interesting

 

Ade,I have seen a few of those on ebay.I start to bid,then the price goes too high for me!

 

Can't speak for the Winton appearance, 'tho it's likely to be the same. This car was at Rob Roy hillclimb a month or two ago - and it was still in Australia a week ago. Don't think the owner has plans to move it along just yet. It was with a group of pre 1930 French cars in an event here in South Australia - Amilcars, Salmson, etc plus our Sizaire.

Re the belt drive - the original would have been belt, but like tyres, belts have to be replaced by something a little more "modern" - and a little less perished.

Rolland Pilain A22 W/ 2 litre ,8 cylinder engine. Vincent-Vintage Revival pic...

 

That Rolland Pilain has me wondering:
Has anybody here had success detuning a modern four cylinder motorcycle engine?
Seems like a natural choice to use a 600cc-1000cc four in a cyclecar but they seem to have just too much oomph or are too high strung for a vintage styled car.
Could one be converted to single or double carbs in an attempt to calm it down?
