I have know this car since the mid-eighties, and it hasn't moved 100 miles since then. I got it last month. Has the original 235/3 speed, never messed with, rreally good intereior. I had to put the 17's on it to get home. Plans are disc brakes (almost done), some 15 inch TT or aluminum slots, and then drive it. Took a lot of patience (and a fair amount of money), but I finally got a great, rust-free, never hit, hacked on or molested 55 Chevy. Thought the farm-to-market road sign was a good omen. It is just outside Brady going toward Mason if you need to get a pic.
Don't know how big these will be, hope they are ok.

Nice lookin 55 bro, that baby is patina rich and some steel wheels would be sweet. Slot wheels are for race cars, my 2 cents. Congrats on a super cool car!! ~sololobo~

Nice car! Brady, Texas is really out there in God's country. I've been to Fredericksburg and at one time had a deer lease at Robert Lee. But, as you know us snotty yankies from Dallas don't get out to the great parts of Texas that often. I love the idea of the photo op by the Farm to Market 1955 sign. Enjoy!

Congrats! I had a 55 chevy belair hardtop with it's original 235/3 speed overdrive. Loved it and it'd cruise easily at 75...long before the national 55 mph limit. I strongly believe an overdrive ****** is almost mandatory on todays highways at todays speeds.
A T-5 also might be just what you need for it, especially with Texas' looooong distances between towns.
