As hotfr8 asked heres some Pictures of the engine .. I know its a mess right now. It sits literally as i pulled it out of the P100.... im gonna freshen it up an repaint it with the chassis an everything
Car is looking great. Keep after it. I think you will be as happy with the diesel as I am with the one in my A tudor.
Isnt much really to report on as all ive done is strip the chassis down ready for painting ... But ive just got my seat upholstered in that u.s army canvas .. Looks pretty good if you ask me Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad

Well the chassis has been given a fresh coat of black ... Luckily With dad owning his own paintshop .. I can get a little technical with the painting without breaking the budget .. Soo for the frame. Ive chose a mix of matte/satin black. And then all the "attachments" will be gloss black to add a little bit of a contrast to the solid black underneath the car Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad

Keep up the good work, one very tidy looking car, and practical being an oil burner, I've a 2 litre turbo diesel in my Chevy 3100 pick up, it means I can afford to go somewhere further than the shops.

Can help out with a pattern but no direct access to a foundry at the moment. I know some guys who will do one off in brass. Would like to see your coupe for real so talk more about it then. See you and your dad soon.
cool deal przybyl28, a diesel ride is a good way to have an affordable driver. I have an 85 s-10 with a 2.2 isuzu diesel and i'm hoping to find a late 20's to mid 30's pickup to put it in. I'd keep all the early axles, rims, etc so it would appear stock, even having a small single tailpipe but the coalburner rattle and black smoke would tell a different story. good luck on the build and thanks for posting.

Does England have rules like they do in Australia where you have to have an Engineer sign off any modification that you make to the suspension and frame? If so I can see why you would have an approved shop do the modifications for you instead of having to deal with the Engineer for sign off. I like the use of the later engine even if some think it isn't traditional, In the fifties if you could afford the price you installed a 49/50 Olds or Caddy in your old Ford which would make the engine less than ten years old. So what is traditional, I was there and we could not wait to get rid of our old flat head Ford for a later model overhead valve engine when we could afford it.
Yeahh my engines out of a ford p100 pickup truck. Its a lot like a sierra or something ... Weve now installed the rear axle in the car after a tonne an tonne of work trying to get the rear leaf spring back on Ill get some better photos tonight once i get home !
