Finally getting started on my 60 f100 this week. Got most of the interior out today, I think the previous owner must have used a few cans of spray adhesive on the carpet and jute. The floors aren't in half bad shape. The engine and trans are coming out this weekend and another going in if all goes well. Pics coming as soon as I get them off the camera.

Got the fe engine out today, and that was enough in this heat.

    That's a 59 or a 60 with a 59 grill. I wish I had that FE motor. Great looking truck too btw

It is a 60 with a 59 grill. I like the earlier grills better then the 60 grill.

It came with the FE in it, and I didn't like how they made the mounts, so it had to come out anyway. If it had a Y block I would have kept that, but I'm not that interested in the latter Ford engines, thats just me.

I would actually rather have the y block. lol The fe is gone already though. If you drop an fe in your truck I have all the mounts to do it.

The bezel is out of one of the big trucks, F700 I think. It had a tach and air gauge in it.

i had the same gauge bezel from a '57 F-750 w/ tac and air gauge, sold it and the guages a while back on here.. I like the little truck one w/ the stars though... but the tach was cool too.. Looks like a nice truck.

Pulled the front bumper off today and cut two inches off the frame, the bumper fits closer to the body now.

Did you eliminate the tray, or cut it? It looks real good with the bumper tight like that.

There was no tray there. It's spaced about 1" away from the body now.

The drop beam is ready to go in, just need the king pin kits. This is the only marking on the beam, can anyone ID it?

Picked up an intake the other day. Looks like captain spray paint went crazy on it, everything was painted. The blue came right off the intake and it it was painted orange under that.

The engine is about ready to go back in, just waiting on a trans. After cleaning the intake back to bare aluminum I decided to go back to orange. The carbs are next and I need to get some new air cleaners.

I need to find some new springs for the front of the truck, does anyone have a good source? I hope to have it on the road by the end of the year. It's getting close.

Try Mac's or Sacramento Vintage Ford. The Truck Shop out of Orange County (www.TruckandCarShop.com) has reverse eye front and rear leaf springs which are not mono springs. I've heard some negative things about mono's so I'm thinkin about these.
Also Obsolete and Classic Auto parts, Dennis Carpenter, LMC Truck for parts.
    Good luck with the truck.

  30. What mounts did you use for the SBC or did you make them?
